La Siesta Condominiums — Hotel in Siesta Key

The place was in a great location and the unit was very clean. However the staff was not very helpful or personable. My husband and I stayed there for 9 days and we had to put a work order in for our unit as we had a few things that needed to be fixed. Unfortunately on Wed when I went to get some money to go to the village, we noticed our envelope was missing and I did not take the envelope out of the condo the entire time. I had grabbed money for a boat ride on Tuesday and had money to go into the village on Tuesday. Wed morning we went to get money for breakfast and the money and envelope were gone. We went immediately to the office which was not open on time and asked if our work order was ever done and the maintenance person had not gotten to our unit yet, but I was also notified by another renter there were locksmith people there the day our money went missing. My husband and I ripped the entire condo apart for 2 1/2 hours and even went down to the dumpster and go our trash out of the dumpster thinking maybe by accident the envelope got tossed out and the money was not there. The staff at the front desk when asked if there are cameras they said they are not on any specific condo with I think is a lie as there are signs everywhere there that things are being recorded. Needless to say it did not sit well with my husband and I and we were out a good amount of money. No one wanted to help us, never showed us video, never said another word to us and we were very very upset as we saved and worked so hard for this trip. Pretty nice place that has one of the best locations if you are a beach goer. That was primarily one of the reasons why my family and I decided to stay here. That and we'd like that there's a separate bathroom for Mom and Dad and a separate one for the kids. The condo that we're staying in is well furnished and clean there are a few things that in my opinion need to be replaced such as the refrigerator and stove they're kind of on the dated side. I can't speak for the other condominiums obviously since I have not been inside them. The one that we are in has a excellent bathroom that was recently updated. The people that run the clubhouse are very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. I like how there is shaded parking for our rental car so that it makes it a tiny bit cooler when we go inside it. The proximity to downtown siesta isn't bad if it wasn't 1 million degrees out I would probably walk there. I suppose if you had bikes it would be an easy ride. I would recommend this place I think the only other thing that is disappointing is the pool we really wanted to make more use of it but is extremely warm basically like a hot tub. The ocean is the same it's very hot of course that's what you're going to get when you come to visit Florida in August. It really is too bad that they can't cool the pool somehow or even if there was more shade over it maybe that would help. It would be nice to have someplace to go that had refreshing water. Turtle Beach is down the road and in my opinion is probably better and less busy than siesta key Beach. I would almost recommend driving down there It only takes about 5...

DO NOT RENT C-220 This unit has not been updated since the 80s. It is so outdated that the things could not be sold for 50 cents in a garage sale. Owner has decided that there is no value in updating and has brought down the value of the other condos. If a condo association allows units like to this one to be rented you have to question all the units. Screen door squeaks and front door stinks so you have to shove your body weight into it to get it to open. Toilet seat is loose and we removed shower liner due to excessive mold. There is outdated decorations throughout covered in dust includimg dry flowers that look like they were purchased 30 years ago. Chair covers were disgusting and screened patio had the most outdated rusted beach chairs as well as fake plants with standing water. We were shocked that the condo association allowed this unit to rented. It was a shame. We also were told unit was ready and when we went in we not only found an outdated neglected unit it was also dirty. There was still trash in the room, dirty towels, unmade beds and it obviously was unclean. The unit was also listed that it slept 5. It had a queen bed and two twins. Owner thinks sleeping on a coach can be counted as a bed. Sofa does not pull out. The only reason why we gave it one stars was the management team helped rectify what they could for us with empathy and efficiency. Plus the location is ideal and upkeep of the grounds...
