Spearfish Grille — Restaurant in Florida

This is a decent seafood restaurant on the water but not really waterfront dining. It’s good but not amazing. I can recommend the gumbo as an appetizer, it was almost as good as NOLA gumbo.

The hogfish I had was blackened but not really blackened. Blackened seasoning is a spicy, pepper forward blend that is crusted onto a dish through high heat. It was not blackened in the slightest and that was the most disappointing aspect. The hogfish itself was good fish, bun was good, tartar was good. The black beans and rice lacked depth of flavor and seasoning.

Other dishes at the table and in the photos include triple tail and grouper fried fish and chips. A kids cheeseburger, chicken tenders, and lobster Mac and cheese. The lobster Mac and cheese was quite good with hearty chunks of buttery lobster. Triple tail was good, the fried dishes were fried well.

The French fries were really good fries, fresh potato flavor and crispy outside with a fluffy inside texture.

Overall, I do recommend Spearfish Grille UNLESS you’re a huge seafood aficionado and desire particular seasoning and spices on your seafood. I do think the dish I had lacked depth of flavor and seemed to be heavily...

Spearfish Grill is my #1 favorite Florida Vacation restaurant. It is nestled in a boat setting just across the Siesta Key bridge. We drop our luggage at home and headed to Spearfish Grill and immediately feel the vaca vibe! There is open air seating, live music every night, and the aroma of smoked food on the barbie. The greeters and servers or SOOOO FRIENDLY, no matter how busy they are! Jeremy, our server offered us some new additions to the already perfect menu, he is very knowledgeable of what goes into all the dishes, don’t be afraid to ask him about the menu. I had to try the Two Crab Cake Dinner, I usually get the Fish Tacos, but the Crab Cakes sounded tasty. Spearfish Grill on Siesta Key 👍 Fantastic locally sourced fish 🐟, some of which they catch 🎣 themselves 😉 I ordered the Hogfish tonight 😋😋👍 The catch of the day changes regularly, depending on what's in season and available 😀 Indoor and outdoor seating 💺. Very casual atmosphere. Friendly and courteous staff. Definitely worth a try....
