The condo we stayed in at Our House was beautiful. 5 Stars! Very well kept and a nice view of the ocean and beach from the balconies. We went with several families. First night Sunday we reserved the grill to cook out near the pool. In the middle of cooking a storm blew in. We stayed under the shelter. My husband went to check on the cook and going up to the grill because of the rain the cement slop was very slippery and my husband fell. Next day x-rays confirmed broken ribs. I called the office on Monday to report the incident. I was informed that management would call me back. Almost 2 weeks later and multiple almost daily emails to Teresa from the rental agency we have not heard from anyone from management or the HOA from the building complex. Teresa assured me she forwarded all of my emails to the HOA with my concerns. Although Teresa was prompt and attentive no one ever followed up to check on my husband. No concern to a paying customer who was injured on their grounds. The day prior to my husbands fall we spoke with another customer who also stated he to fell in the exact spot! No caution signs No mats nothing to ensure customer safety. Toward the end of the week the "maintenance man" placed a small mat in front of the grill. Mats were also placed at the entrance of the pool and near the bathrooms. We asked about placement of the mats and asked if that was done due to the two falls at the beginning of the week. The "maintenance man" stated they were always there and he changed the mats daily! LIE! WE have picture proof there was never a mat there. To boot he blamed my husband for the fall stating he pushed the mat under the grill when he fell along with his beer can. The "maintenance man" further stated we should not have been under the pavilion in a storm we should have gone inside didn't we know it's Florida and rains every day. Explaining the storm come up quickly and asked if we were to walk in the storm in the thunder and lightening back to our condo which was not next to the pool he stated yes. After stating we should know it rains in Florida he stated the weather was very unusual for Florida that time of year. We asked why management or HOA representative did not reach out to inquire about the incident and check on a customer the "maintenance man" put all blame on Teresa with the rental agency stating it was her responsibility and she was "shucking" her responsibilities. The "maintenance man" who would not give us his name was very rude and lacked any sort of empathy or concern to anyones safety. We were at fault for not running when the storm hit and not knowing it was coming. The apple must not fall far from the tree in employment because the sheer indecency of the HOA/ management to not reach out to a customer who was hurt, lost his entire vacation and additional weeks of income is speechless. I have never been a paying customer that was treated with such little concern for wellness and safety. They were not even concerned for their protection and ask for an incident report to be filed. Nothing! Although our condo was amazing the communication with Teresa was appreciated the complex...
Read moreRenter Beware. Previously we rented 2 different condos at Our House at the Beach - perfect, no complaints. This year we rented W-701 for 35 days. It was listed as “all the comforts of home, fully equipped kitchen, linens and towels provided”. What we had to deal with was uncomfortable master bed (they replaced box spring), TV console was warped and damaged (they replaced) only 2 beach towels and 1 dish towel (sleeps 6??), 2 balcony chairs with broken straps, 1 pan set all had loose handles with one handle coming completely off when being used, closet doors hard to open and close (had to leave them open), pantry door handle came off (we fixed), no toilet paper holder in master bath (they purchased), no pizza pan (“not on inventory requirements”), no sheet pan (they purchased), no food storage containers for leftovers (they purchased), missing light in 2nd bathroom, insufficient lighting with only 2 small lights over the sink in main bathroom (had to leave bathroom door open), missing panel in 2nd bedroom window blinds, gasket loose on dryer and no pillows for the couch (they purchased). It didn’t take long to say enough and that we were tired of scheduling repairs during our vacation and that they could fix items when we left. Asked how our stay was and said it worked out (because we stopped dealing with the problems). Condo has possibilities, starting with a paint refresh. We were compensated $100 for the “hassles”....
Read moreThe unit itself was nice, but there were ants in the kitchen and we ended up having to do a little TLC when we first checked in (some light bulbs were out and needed changing). The community was nice, although it could've done with some landscaping. The parking lot is TERRIBLE, though. One-way driving that is a squeeze if anyone is parked outside of their unit's garage (which are way too small and too short to open the back hatch of an SUV in). The listing said "attached garage", which it was, but not to the unit, only to the hall downstairs. Lastly, nothing was said in the listing about stairs, but the unit was up 3 flights of stairs, and I was there with my parents, who are older and have bad knees, so the walk up was very hard for them and put a big damper...
