Checked in got into our room seen a few bugs just killed them and continued about our day. Few other flaws in our stay but nothing major to complain about. Check out day which was just the following day we decided to let the kids go swim one more time in the morning before we left. Friend spotted a ton of bugs all over our shoes and his Apple Watch that he left on the side of the pool and he knew exactly what they were . . Cockroaches 🪳 and they looked exactly like what I killed the day before in my room I’ve just never seen a cockroach in myLife so I didn’t realize it when I should’ve. We take a video, and I’m completely disgusted and disappointed that now all our stuff that will go home is at risk. I thought that I would let the front desk know that that type of risk was just unacceptable to me. She said maintenance will have to check it out before she came up with a plan on what to do for us/hotel. Fair enough. Maintenance comes he looks just behind the fridge quickly and said he didn’t see anything moving/alive but that there was in fact remnants and he is going to let the front desk know what was found and recommended that our room be sprayed he also asked if I seen them anywhere else and I said yes PLENTY all by the pool but he was already aware that there was a lot down there…. I wait an hour longer after check out time at hotel to just give front desk time to come up with something to make this right. When I finally do She said “you got a full comp on your room, funds should be back and available 3-5 business days” to be sure I asked “ may I get something to prove this” she printed me off the details of the stay the cost of what would’ve been charged and the bottom of it all totaling 0.00 due to this comp she supposedly granted. Still unsure how to feel about this I thought this gesture was okay (because what else could they have done?) even if I have to go home and shake down every piece of belonging prior to bringing it inside our home i left with the thought that they did their best to think Of a solution for myself and family. The 5 days have passed and we don’t even see anything pending on our bank account and that it looks as if they are still charging full price on the room. I call today trying to see what is going on and they say I’m not getting a refund and I never was and that I must’ve misinterpreted something. My whole interactions with the desk clerk was very clear and short. so there wasn't much that could’ve been mixed up. So I’m getting that I was just lied to the day of check out just so I could get out of their hair or that someone else changed their mind. I reached the manager Abby today about everything and every answer was “not our fault, still can’t help you, idk what you want me to do, no proof of the roaches in your room maintenance said, it wasn’t set in stone what we were going to do for you” I did say some facts with some seriousness in my tone AFTER I was already disrespected and she couldn’t handle it and hung up and ignored my following calls so I waited and tried again she did answer, our convo continued it was still going the same but I said “well it’s seems as if everyone employed here knows about there being cockroaches because one worker and maintenance had mentioned that they are careful and double check themselves at clock out, to not bring them home too” she then admitted to the facility having an infestation of cockroaches and snapped with “thats why we spray everyday!” You admit to that but refuse to believe that I had an encounter with them in my room? The pool is in the center of the building and you think a door or some steps and a door from that pool is keeping the infestation from spreading ? You admitted and acknowledged the infestation yourself what more proof do you need to do right by your guests? And at that why is so hard to stand on or support the solution I was under the impression of receiving the same day I confronted the desk clerk. I wouldn’t have even come to google review if this would’ve went how I was told it was going to...
Read moreI should've checked the reviews when my husband said did you check the reviews, got here at check in, i though to be a little dusty could definetly use a deep cleaning, smell of chlorine was in the air heavily, wasnt much of a line only 2 people in front of me however it took more then 15 mins to check them in, the desk lady who filled in for her friend wasnt big on guest services, she instead helped other people before helping the people standing in line, taking phone calls tending to them before helping the customers, I didnt mind honestly I get it maybe shes new not trained well or something, when it came to me finally she answered a phone oviously a employee calling they apparently forgot something behind the desk she spent 7 mins looking for this item while on the phone with the person, I was still polite, wasnt any information given on how the hotel operates, not shown the elevator or doors to park close to my room, or what amenities they have, or wifi etc nothing just given papers told to sign not knowing what I'm signing, given keys and a map and swim passes, was told the pool closes at 11 and we slept til after check in cause we been on the road all night, thought we'd sleep and wake up in time to swim for a hour til close, was a huge disappointment for the kids, cause the pool closed at 10, I thought well wth why would the FRONT DESK tell me different, I asked another staff member when it closes they said 10 and it opens at 10 am I'm like wow went to front desk to ask her, not a I'm sorry for giving the wrong information nothing she was conversing with a friend on company time on a company phone not her own, the office phone, she kept talking on the phone even when I said excuse me and asked what time the pool opened, she ignored me until I said excuse me again, and said I thought it closed at 11 but it closed at 10 also the pool opens at 9, so now I'm confused, front desk experience wasnt really properly informative or welcoming, also the amenities featured said free breakfast which we were looking forward too and was told later that night they dont serve breakfast, but they got a restaurant, coming back to my room I smelt the hint of alcohol which gave me a head ache and marijuana as well in the hall, room seemed like it needed a deep deep clean as well as the carpet, didnt really seem like they vacuumed or didn't vacuum good enough, the ceiling in bathroom had a tile pushed out which was creepy, no microwave to heat anything up, fridge didnt really get cold and a very mild cold no freezer area either, room smelled kind of musty and old and dusty, also the bathroom fan didnt work, if the floor was like that I didnt want to try the coffee so no comment on that other then it looked dusty, the location of the place was easy to find just off 94 down the street a way, tbh I ended up wishing we booked a better room we were actully about to but its only one night, I suggest reading reviews if you want your money's worth and a welcoming guest experience, the price wasnt bad for what we got it couldve been cheaper but it was ok, I thought maybe they are under new management idk but we ourselves wont be staying at this Ramada...
Read moreThis hotel has a gimmick, and it sticks to it. Unfortunately, outside of that, it gets pretty bad, pretty fast.|To start with the good, the water park is great. The pool is large and is deep enough to dive down into or just to stand in the shallow end; the hot tub is comfy and the water slide is fun for kids and adults. The adjoined Boston's Pizza is a convenient way to get food, either dining in, having it ready for you to swing down to pick it up, or have it delivered via room service.|Outside of the water park, the issues begin piling up. Our AC unit struggled to cool the room, and we were just thankful we showed up after the heat wave, but the heat from the water park makes the entire building feel like a sauna. All of the water pressure in the building must be focused solely on the water park, because it certainly isn't in the shower. And speaking of the shower, no matter what temperature you set it to, it would wildly swing from steaming hot to bitter cold, and back again. If you're going to shower, make sure you go fast. But watch out! They might put 2 shampoos and no body wash, like they did with mine. Oh, and try to avoid the rusty towel racks, which are more rust than clean metal. The extractor fan also wasn't working, so we had to leave the bathroom door open to keep it from completely fogging up.|The vending machines scattered around the building seemed to decline any card we used when all we wanted was a bottle of water. If you intend to do laundry, I hope you brought your own detergent, because the shop in the lobby is completely devoid of any items, save some dryer sheets, and a Tide to go stick. We desperately needed to wash some clothes, including the bathing suits we used for the pool, and ended up needing to spend nearly $20 to get a bottle of detergent sent out way via Uber. And to top it off, when I tried to get change for the coin operated laundry, I was directed to the restaurant attached to the building, because I was told they don't handle cash transactions at the desk.|When I went to go get ice, the machine dispensed exactly 4 pieces, before promptly giving up. It didn't make any noise, and I'm fairly certain it was shut off, but there were no signs or any indication of that.|A minor peeve, but still worth noting, is that when we came into our room, the table lamp could not turn on. After messing with all the connections, I found that one of the sockets in the 4 outlet connection under the table was completely dead, and that's the one the lamp was plugged into. Seeing as that lamp is a pretty significant source of light in the room, it's disappointing that it was even plugged into a dead outlet at all, to say nothing of the outlet not being repaired to begin with.|The final issue is that the hotel is accessible via weird utility streets off the main roads. During our stay, both the family we rode with, and the Ubers we hired, struggled with the sudden change onto the side roads, with most GPS systems struggling to...
