First, we do love the Salish. We got engaged there and got married there. We recently stayed for our 10 year anniversary. Unfortunately, lackluster is the only way to describe the experience. Maybe because it was a Wednesday? We booked the spa level room with a couples massage package. Check in was good and easy. We got to our room and included in the package is a bottle of sparkling wine. I booked the room over the phone for this very reason. Myself and my wife do not like sparkling anything. I asked (at booking) if we could have a bottle of non sparkling rosé instead. They said, no problem. It was sparkling wine in the room. Normally I wouldn’t complain, but it’s just the start of so many details gone wrong and all those add up when you spend $1,500 for one night. The wine comes with chocolates (very good ones) and a nice welcome note. A note that had someone else’s name on it. To be fair, we did find another note in the room that had our names on it, it did say happy anniversary, happy first anniversary. so it was very confusing. I called the front desk to make sure we have the right room. Got that sorted out along with the sparkling wine. Time for our couples massage! Checked in at the spa, very easy, very nice people. One massage therapist comes out and grabs me. I asked if my wife is coming back with us? She looked confused. We told her we booked a couples massage. This was booked over the phone when I booked the room/entire evening. They said they would have to look to see if they can do a couples massage. We got “lucky” and they had a room set up for one that was booked at a later time. The massage itself was great, definitely recommend the hot rock treatment. Time for dinner! I booked the outdoor fire table experience, because hey it’s our 10 year anniversary so why the hell not. Sure it’s $50 a person added to the bill just for the privilege to sit outside with your own fire table, but the view is amazing. The food….didn’t hit the mark like it always has before. First thing that comes is the bread and a butter candle. The server lights it and it melts the butter onto the plate and mixes with the oil and balsamic. Pretty cool really, but there was a breeze that day, don’t blame the Salish for that one the poor server tried and tried to make it work. The bread itself was hard and unpleasant so we didn’t end up eating it anyways. I’m a guy who likes a good crust, but not one that feels like it’s going to take a tooth while eating it. We had an appetizer the burrata with arugula and was just bland bitter. We shared the Halibut and that was good, not great, but good. At this point I was thinking maybe I’m off and not feeling this or something. Skip ahead for a second to breakfast in the room. It was amazing! Nothing bad to say about that. Avocado toast and smoky omelette. Top notch and just amazing. So after dinner we just called it a night. At that point we both felt kinda disappointed. We just wanted to watch some tv. We always bring our fire stick with us so we can continue to watch what ever show we are watching together at the time. Got it all hooked up no problem, but the internet is running so slow it can’t load any apps. When it finally did start our show, it just buffered the entire time. Again, not the biggest problem out there, but when all the little things add up and you spend a good amount of money for a 5 star experience, it just...

First impression: First thing you notice is due to construction it is pretty crazy driving in. Fortunately staying at the Lodge grants you complimentary Valet parking so that helps. We checked in and they got us in our room an hour early so that was nice. Went out on the falls hike, which is really just a pretty easy walk. It is super crowded on that path but you would expect it to be. The grounds are very nice.
Room: The room is just fine, what you would expect at a decent hotel. Just maybe not 4-star lodge level. The bathroom is nothing fancy, a decent shower. They have a kind of sad gas fireplace in the room. The cleaning service misses some areas, especially mirrors and glass. Lots of trash gets left behind too. Their bath robes in the room are disappointingly less lush than the ones you would get at the actual spa. We have a riverview room. The balcony is really sad and small with pretty uncomfortable furniture and I don't think they go out there to clean. There is all kinds of overgrowth and stuff so the view really ends up being mostly obstructed. Save money with the regular rooms.
Dining: The room service menu ends up being inaccurate because The Attic (one of their two restaurants) will just close without notice apparently. First night we tried for dinner in the room but were told they were serving a shortened menu then waited an hour for just the menu to come to our room, having to call for it multiple times. For dinner we got a salty burger and some unseasoned risotto. But I'll review the restaurant more in their area. The Attic we ended up having lunch at on day two. It was amazing and we instantly regretted spending any time with The Dining room. We had The Dining Room room service dinner and breakfast, both being about a 2/5 I would say, maybe 3/5 for breakfast. We also ate a dinner there and an in-person breakfast, both probably 2/5. It is really below expectations. The Attic was greatly, friendly atmosphere. If you aren't sure save your time and money and eat there.
Staff: The staff is fairly nice. I found the valet to be pretty discourteous, albeit efficient. You get a lot of "we might be able to." But not a lot of "yes sir," and the kind of manners you expect at a high end place. Of course you can only do what you do, but there is still plenty of room for professionalism in a negative or uncertain answer. The text service they do is very nice and very fast, it was good to have.
Spa: we had a couples massage in the cascade room. It was great. Our masseuses were very nice, friendly, and great at their work. The place was comfortable for sure. They do push add-ons a little heavy. Everyone asks you 2-3 times, which takes a bit away from the stress relief. Other than that, it's a very good massage.
Overall thoughts: I probably would not stay here again. Willows Lodge and the Inn at Langley are far superior in my opinion. I wouldn't say it's horrible, just not worth 500-800 a night. The room is fine, dining is below average, the staff are adequate, but the spa is very nice. If you want a good stay close to Snoqualmie just stay at Willows Lodge...
Read moreWe stayed here recently for a wedding. The room was nice and clean and had a great view of the falls. However, there wasn’t a microwave in the room, no space to eat in the room if food was brought back (obviously they want you to eat at their on site dinning) and most of, if not all, of the kid friendly shows on the TV required you to purchase a pass. I knew going into our stay that this that this hotel was not very kids friendly but I was hoping they might at least have kid friendly tv included.
My main complaint is with the hotel staff. The first day we were there, room service shows up at 2:30pm. At this time we are in the process of getting ready for the wedding and ask if they can come back in 30 minutes when we will be gone for the evening. They confirm 30 minutes and say they will come back. However, they never came back. We returned from the wedding at 10:30pm to find out they haven’t come back. I don’t mind that the beds haven’t been made but we could have used new coffee cups and clean equipment for the poor over coffee.
The real trouble begins n our last day. On the day of check out there was an after wedding brunch at 11:30am. Check out is at 12pm but we were told we could load our car early and leave it in the lot until we were done with brunch. We call the front desk at about 10:45 am asking for someone come help us with our luggage. Since it’s not check out time we left a few small items, including my purse in the room. We load our car, chat with a friends in the lobby then return to the room. Upon returning to the room I immediately notice that my purse is missing! No one is in the hallway to ask if anyone went in our room. We search the room and see nothing. We retrace our steps and see nothing. We speak with hotel staff and they have nothing in lost and found. I talk to the valet to get keys and check the car, he remembers seeing the black purse in the room because he helped carry our bags. We check the car anyways and see nothing. We go back to the room and check everything again. We check the car again and check with hotel staff who still don’t have anything in the lost and found and don’t seem particularly concerned that my purse and wallet have gone missing from our room. Upon going up to the room again we find the cleaning staff and ask if anyone has been in our room. Unfortunately, they speak minimal english and we aren’t able to communicate with them well. After a bit of back and forth a cleaner in another room pops out and understands we are missing a purse. They say the purse has been turned into the front desk. The front desk still knows nothing about the missing purse but the cleaning staff is able to produce the bag and other missing items from a room behind the front desk staff. No one was apologetic or even bothered to say sorry that my purse had been removed from my room before check out and that I spent a good 30-45 minutes frantically searching for it. This is the reason I will never stay at this hotel again or ever recommend it to anyone.
I do want to say that the Valets are amazing. They are all super friendly, knowledgeable about local attractions and dinning and work...
