I had 4 different encounters with this place. The first was when they were the McIntosh Inn. It was amazing! cheap, able to check in under 21, and not dirty at all. the people were also extremly courteous. That was in the summer of 07. In winter of 07, it had changed over to the Scottish inn and was not to bad, the only problem was that the lady at the desk was very wierd and called the police on me and my boyfriend because she didn't understand the fact that a charge on a credit card stays pending. after the police called her illiterate we were free to go. In spring of 08 this place still wasn't completly bad. There were alot more families living in it as if it were their home, and bathrooms were kinda gross but i dealt with it because i didn't have any other choice only being 19 and desperate for a place to stay (I'm from jersey so it wasn't a quick trip home). A few weeks later I had to make the trip again to straighten out problems from school and it may have been the worst adult decision of my life. As if the newly posted sign which stated they weren't responsible for any person getting hurt wasn't enough, the toilet wouldn't flush on the first try and the shower wouldn't drain. And then to top it all off THEY HAD BED BUGS! i woke up with bites all over my face arms and back. When we brought this up with management for a room switch, we were vague about the desription of what we thought it could b saying only that we got bit and they knew immediatly what it was! they tryed to transfer us to the scottish inn on Hausmann and the second we opened the door a rat ran by! This was a horrible experience and i advise anyone not to go here! its a week later and im still scratchin and itching like crazy. And the worse part is, they charged full price and didn't want to lower it. Needless to say we called the department of health that day, but i advise to...

We checked in early and we were told our room wasn't cleaned and ready yet so they gave us a double bed room for the same price as a single bed. As we walked in my huband and children and I were greeted by a musty moldy sort of smell, which progressively got worse as we headed toward the bathroom, where we found rusted out base board heaters, running toilet and hair in the bathtub drain. We checked the microwave and it was filthy with splattered dried on food. The remote was missing batteries, there were stains on the chairs. The carpet was smelly and dirty so much so we didn't want to take our shoes off. BUT, the worst of all was when we tried to pull out the sofa bed and there was a large greasy black stain on the cushions and as we pulled the bed out a mouse jumped out, there was a massive amount of mouse droppings all over the mattress and linings. If this was the clean we were offered in place of our original room...I shudder to think what that looked like!!!! During the height of the thunder storm my husband packed up so quickly I was still getting our room refunded and explaining the horrible conditions in the room to the desk clerk. I have been in many hotels, but this one took the cake. The entire way home we were all itching and scratching at the thought of what we...

The only way I would stay here again is if i was homeless. While the room did look and smell clean upon first entering the room, upon closer inspection it was absolutely filthy. Dust on top of the desks, tv, and A/C unit. Literally half an inch of dust on the A/C unit! The carpet clearly had not been vacuumed in a very long time. There were no fitted sheets on the bed, and the sheets had cigarette burns in them despite it being a non smoking room. I found rappers, cigarette butts, and dead bugs behind the bed. The smoke detector had been removed from the ceiling (I later found it in the drawer of the bedside table) and when I tried to plug in my cell phone charger, it caused something to short out causing all of the lights in the room except one to go out. BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE!!! The absolute worst thing is that I noticed the corner of the mattress was sticking up a little. When I checked to see what was causing this, I found a box of gun ammunition hidden underneath!!! The only good thing about this place is that they had hot water, and the people at the front desk were "kind of" respectful. This place may be cheap, but still isn't worth the money. It needs to...

We’ve stayed at some low-end, affordable hotels across the country, but this one may be a new low. The room was definitely not cleaned (used toothpaste on sink, stained blankets, stains on the carpet, long drips down the door, and not to mention all the hair in the bathroom)- if you tied a towel to a dog’s tail and let it run around the room, it would be cleaner than how it was when we arrived. For the quality, these rooms should never cost more than ~$50/night; not over $100 on the weekend! The front staff, both on the phone and in person, were polite and efficient, but the room was abysmal. The air conditioner crapped out in the middle of the night- sputtering out dirty air and heat in August. We barely made it through the night. 0 stars (excluding the staff) if possible. Just look at the pictures! If we weren’t in a “last-resort” type situation, we would not have slept there.
