The Nugget — Hotel in Sparks

Booking: Why do resort fees still exist? We booked a room through Expedia for $100/night and upon check-in, I was charged an additional $53! If i would have known, I would have booked somewhere else for $150/night at a non-casino/resort because we only needed a place to sleep (did not need use the pool, gym, or gambled lol).

Room: Room was gross. Bed/sheets were fine. No bed bugs but lots of random trash/hair on the ground and miscellaneous splatters all over the walls/ceiling. There was hair in the shower drain! A random dried up gummy bear too. Did not go barefoot in the room. Water pressure was so low and lukewarm. No fresh toilet paper rolls and empty tissue container.

Service: Was able to get a new tissue box brought up. Was able to switch rooms when we found that the water pressure was low/lukewarm. Love the starbucks baristas in the lobby! Staff/waitresses when asking for directions around hotel/parking lot were helpful too!

Location: Good. Right off the freeway. Right next to rail yard but we were high enough that we didn’t hear much noise. Lots of families with kids on our floor but only noisy when they were in the hallways. Otherwise...

My husband and I stayed at the Nugget for the first time. We will NEVER go back. Found someone elses dirty panties still hanging in the shower. The blanket on the bed was dirty in multiple places. The chair had what looked like fresh period blood stains and we had trains connecting and disconnecting outside or window all night. Last but not least people were screaming and fighting in the halls...

Had a great 2 night stay with the Nugget. Clean room with a mini fridge that does not charge extra to use what more can you ask for. Also has Anthony’s chophouse below. Great food and a staple...
