This is a unique boutique hotel. ||To my knowledge, the only one of its kind in Springfield. ||||Personally, I am tired of the cookie cutter, sterile, boring, mega chain low value, budget hotels with nothing nearby except more cookie cutter, sterile, boring..... ||||I admire and support locally established businesses with a "story" like this one and the diversity of the many restaurants nearby. ||||Yes, it is not perfect, and it is not meant to be. That is exactly what makes it shine. This is for the adventurous, the daring, the bohemian, the supporter of local creativity, hard work, community and initiative.||||The room I stayed in was the Pokhara. Large, high ceiling, shiny wood floor. Per info, some of the original wood from the remodel gutting out has been recycled and used to make furniture (bed frame, tables, shelves, closets, etc.). The king size bed is divine and manufactured locally !||||The room is equipped with a sink, mini fridge and microwave. The highlight was the hot water kettle and the V60 brew filter for preparing the gourmet coffee provided. I have traveled quite extensively and never seen this type of brewer. I was impressed. The coffee was great. Looking for the same on Amazon ! ||||Periodic noise from nearby railroad is a negative but it is part of the "experience" and I quickly got use to it. ||||Some recommendations would be to provide a work table lamp and sound reducing windows. ||||The diversity of the many restaurants nearby along the historic Commercial Street is outstanding. And they are authentic (Peruvian, Dutch, Cuban, Lebanese). There is something for everyone and all within walking distance. The historic downtown area is immaculate and really well developed. Free 2 hr street parking. No meters. ||||Parking is on street adjacent to hotel and was not an issue. ||||The hotel has a coffee shop that makes a delicious Breakfast Sandwich and "real" coffee. The espresso is the real thing. They even have light lunch/dinner options. It is run separately from the hotel. Friendly attentive staff.||||Overall, I enjoyed my stay. I felt safe, comfortable, in a special place and will...
Read moreLoved this Hotel!! I have an apartment in Brooklyn that is alittle bigger than the room I stayed in, which was pretty amazing to me considering the price for this hotel is pretty much the same or less than other hotels!!
LOCATION - The strip it’s on is really cute, like rustic/industrial small town vibes. There’s some cute shops to wonder into (definitely go walk into the chocolate shop next to Ace, smells soooo good) and the coffee shop in the building downstairs is excellent (I recommend the cappuccino 😛). Parking was in front of the building. Everything felt safe and it was quiet (even next to the train).
ROOM - I stayed in the St. Petersburg room. Like I said it was big! It had a “living space” with some chairs to chill, kitchenette, table and chairs to eat at, you walk down some steps into the bedroom. It has skylights in both rooms (which I loved)! Great aesthetic, everything was clean, bed was comfy, and such cool design ideas (some of which I might take and build myself a closet, small dining table, and redesign my shower hahaha)! The lock some have left reviews about is not a huge deal, the door is locked, plus you can put a chain on as well, and the door at the front of the building stays locked with a code they give you to get in. Didn’t feel unsafe at all!!!
COMMUNICATION - Really great! Not only did they contact me right after I booked with my check in instructions, but I was running behind to check out due to a family member having cancer removal surgery, I contacted them, they were fast to reply, understanding, and gave the ok to check out a bit later!
Definitely will be back (can’t wait to see the other rooms) and have already recommended...

This establishment is basically three businesses that operate under one roof - there’s a coffee shop and a “we work” type space on the ground floor. The second floor houses about a dozen rooms. There is no receptionist and there is no security at night inside the building. One of the baristas at the coffee shop checked me in and gave me a key (no card, it’s old school)
The Uber driver who dropped me off asked me to be careful as it was allegedly in a rough part of town. I could see a cop car whiz by every ten minutes or so.
The rooms are extremely spacious - my room had a cute living room (replete with a full bear skin on the wall) and a couple of stairs that led (down) to a nice bedroom. In between was my updated restroom. I was extremely satisfied with the room. There are some nice dining options down the road if you are willing to walk a couple of 100 meters or so. The people that work there are extremely friendly and the coffee is excellent
After I got back from dinner around 9:00 pm, the coffee shop was closed, and the building was completely empty. I had to use a code to get into the building, and I felt I was all alone in there. I travel very often, but have never spent the night at a hotel that had no security or manager on duty. I thought I was the only guest, but apparently there was another guest as well.
The location is the only reason I’d give this place 4 stars...
