Love, love, love The Berkeley Place Inn! We can't say enough wonderful things about the Inn. The decor is exquisite, calming, and relaxing in both the common areas and our individual room. Our individual room was very spacious and quiet. The lush linens/towels, and bed were truly heavenly! The attention to detail is noteworthy in every aspect of this spacious, historical Inn! There were even complimentary snacks, etc in the lobby. A variety of shops and restaurants are within walking distance or a short drive. We felt very safe with the front door locked 24/7 with a key pad entry. Also, each room has their own individual key pad code. There is parking in a small side lot and on the street (street parking is free on weekends, free after 5pm week days). If needed, the Inn manager can be easily contacted and they respond quickly. We absolutely LOVED The Berkeley Place Inn and will most definitely come again for future stays. Thank you to everyone for making us feel pampered and cared for...
Read moreEverything about it was fabulous! A beautiful home that’s been beautifully restored, and every amenity you could ever want whether it’s in the room or in the public areas! We stayed in the Statler Room and it has a lovely view. One thing we particularly enjoyed was the fact they have a small sound machine in the room that you can turn on at night for white noise. I definitely recommend tasting the chocolate gelato that they have in the little freezer in the common area on the first floor. Beautiful rooms, very comfortable beds and pillows! It was very difficult to get up this morning! The location is very convenient to many good restaurants, and I would definitely suggest Miller St. Grill in the old White Star Mill. Beautiful decor, wonderful atmosphere and very good food! My husband and I both very much enjoyed our stay and we will stay here again! I always travel with house slippers, and I would advise it simply because the marble floor in the bathroom can feel cold....
Read moreThe Historic Berkeley Place is ideally located in Staunton, providing an easy walking distance to the downtown Staunton area and its favored attractions. We stayed in the Augusta suite, the largest accommodations in the building, and the most expensive. For the Staunton area, staying at Berkeley Place is not inexpensive. With other related charges, a two-night stay was nearly a thousand dollars. Even though there is no management staff on site, our experience with staff response, when needed, was rapid. The first night, the heating unit failed, causing uncomfortably low temperature overnight. But upon bringing the problem to management's attention, the issue was quickly resolved. The rooms were very clean, and the amenities were all available as advertised. On balance, a...
