Well let's see...
To start with... The neighboring businesses have barbed wire fence between them and the motel, with the barbs setup to keep people out from the motel side... Not a great first impression. Then we went inside to meet the desk attendant who was behind some thick bullet resistant glass... Not a great second impression. At this point we should have probably bailed, but exhaustion was setting in and we figured that this was just a "thing" for the area.
The stairs up to the room had stairs that had apparently been broken and random stairs were wood instead of concrete, but they weren't the same thickness so you'll notice that your gait gets thrown off. I'm honestly surprised nobody has tripped and hurt themselves. The outside flooring/concrete for at least the third floor is tilted toward the railing, which is awkward.
Getting to the room... The door was not the right size for the frame. It was maybe a half inch thicker than the frame. Pretty noticeable. The bath/shower stall had duct tape around the faucet. The toilet tank was not the right size for the toilet, so the seat would not stay up without holding it up. The colors also didn't match, but that's pretty minor if not for all the other issues. The room was small and cramped. It's almost as if it was a single bed room that got turned into a two bed room. There was no refrigerator, microwave, iron or safe (though, not sure if these are listed as amenities... But they are pretty standard). There was an ice bucket (non-insulated) that was self serve for ice from the first floor as well as cleaning the dirt out of the bucket itself before use. The covers also had noticable stains. We weren't provided any sort wifi password, so the wifi was unusable. We also were not provided any sorry of receipt at check out, only the estimate sheet during check in. Which caused us to have to watch for erroneous charges on our bank account after staying here.
Honestly, if we weren't exhausted and only using the room to sleep in... We would not have stayed there. Luckily, the next night we found a Days Inn for about an extra $4/night that was clean, completely remodeled and had all the amenities listed and was a FAR more pleasant stay.
If there was anything positive to say about this hotel it would be that my wife got to feed the stray cats (she's into that...
Read moreI am writing to make you aware of the unbelievably poor customer service I have received at the Motel 6 Capitol Heights, 75 Hampton Park Blvd. Capitol Heights, MD 20743. I cannot find a more appropriate email address for customer satisfaction-related emails so my apologies if this email does not reach the right person.
On July 21, 20017, I stayed at your Motel 6 for 1 night in room 234. As I mentioned to your receptionist at the time, the accommodation was unsatisfactory in the following ways holes in the bedding, holes in the walls, dirty in the ice from the ice machine, and the room was not cleaned properly. This is the second room we received on this day; the first room number was 326. It was not in good condition either with not AC. I will also provide pictures to show the condition of room number 234.
The receptionist was very rude and got upset when my husband and I came down to make a complain about the bill. After speaking with him, we were not happy so we decided to check out early and asked for a refund. The receptionist agreed but when we return he was gone and someone called him back to the desk so he can give us a refund. He tried to change his story about giving us a refund and I asked him to check the tape because he agreed to give us our money back. He finally gave us the reminder of our money back and I told him I was going to report him. The motel is in poor conditions and the only reason we stayed there so I would be close to a worksite for my employment. I will never recommend anyone to stay at this location and will ask our new stations to do an investigation due to people hanging out all hours of the night and prostitutes knocking on people’s doors saying “Sex Machine” is here. My husband had to open the door to scare her off this is so not acceptable. This experience and pictures will be shared with all my family and friends because we were not treated fair and I don’t want anyone supporting a business like this.
As provisions of the Consumer Rights Act claim my right to benefit from reasonable care and decent service, I believe that this behaving brings your motel in the breach of national legislation. In that line, I am legally entitled to be refunded the amount paid for the first night from you. Therefore, I urge you to consider my claim and provide me with the written response...
Read moreI've poured so much money into this dump due to my current living situation and in my handful of stays I’ve seen it all from Random people standing out side trying to sell Crack woman offering me “a good time” in their room and couples arguing and fighting. And what makes this even worse the security there is horrible at their job they take more pride in harassing the paying guests instead of actually removing the people standing around loitering and hiding in the elevators. I was on the phone having a private conversation when I was approached by a security guard telling me to quite down and due to me speaking on the phone I snapped my fingers at him to acknowledge that he was speaking to me without interrupting the person I was speaking to on the phone. He got mad because i snapped my fingers at him and began to follow me around and harass me I thought after confirming that I was a paying customer he would leave me alone and go about his day but nope was i wrong. I finally get to my room and told my significant other what just occurred outside and she suggested I report him I agreed and went to the front desk and asked to speak with a manager and the person at the front desk was very rude and nasty to me and re-directed me to the security guard that I just had an issue with the security guard refused to speak to and had a paper ready for me to sign so I could be kicked out of my room I left because he treated to put handcuffs on me and I was denied a refund. My mother came to try and de-escalate the situation but they was rude to her as well they gave her no information to speak with corporate and gave her no refund as well. Not to mention my girlfriend laid in the motel bed for no more than a hour while All of this is going on and the next morning she was broken out in hives and we had to take her to urgent care this morning, in conclusion this place is filthy, has roaches, cigarette burns in every inch of furniture along with the rooms smelling like either weed or cigarette smoke and the working staff are unprofessional as hell i quote “No you Won’t get no MF refund” I really do want to take some type of from of legal action at this point or something because after receiving the treatment I endured from so called establishment I deserve some from an apology and a refund or something because that...
