I stayed at this hotel in Phoenix for 10 nights in October 2025. I chose it because it looked very nice on the website, but unfortunately, my actual experience was disappointing.
On the first night, when I arrived late and tried to go to bed, I found many long hairs on the sheets, pillows, and inside the comforter. I have stayed in many hotels around the world, but this was the first time I had seen so many hairs left in a bed. A few strands can happen by accident, but this was clearly excessive — it really looked as if the bedding had not been changed after the previous guest.
I immediately reported it to the front desk. The gentleman there came to my room right away, replaced all the sheets, and apologized sincerely. I appreciated his quick response, but I still felt uncomfortable and could not sleep well that night. Later during my stay, I found more hairs again, but I didn’t feel like reporting it repeatedly.
The hotel offers a 24-hour free drink bar with coffee, tea, and sodas, which I found very convenient. Breakfast is included, but the menu is exactly the same every day, and the potatoes and sausages were much too salty for my taste.
There is also an outdoor pool. I stayed in late October, and the weather was warm, but the pool area is shaded by the building in the morning and early afternoon. Without sunshine and with a bit of wind, it actually felt cold to sit by the pool, which was disappointing. The sun only reaches the pool later in the day, so the orientation of the pool could definitely be improved.
After about a week, I started noticing itchy spots and bite marks on my legs every morning, even though I always slept wearing pajamas. Despite the room being cleaned daily, it never really felt clean. Because of this, I decided to check out one night earlier than planned and moved to another hotel — and finally, I could sleep well there.
All the staff members were polite and kind, and I truly appreciate their efforts. However, the overall stay was unfortunately very disappointing due to the cleanliness and...
Read moreWe stumbled upon this hotel while looking for a hotel for the weekend, while in town visiting ASU.
First, the location of this hotel is perfect! It sits off of the highway, nearing a number of stores and eateries. However, considering the hotel offers breakfast and a light dinner (limited adult beverages included), you may not need to venture out for breakfast and dinner. But traveling as a family, that was definitely a plus!
While checking-in the staff at the front desk was very pleasant, professional and provided great customer service to every guest who approached the desk. After given the COVID rundown, we were given our room key and proceeded to our room.
The room on the other is whole different story, and the reason for my star rating! The room had a funny smell and was extremely warm. And to make matters worse, once we sanitized the room and looked at one of the beds...there was a stain on the sheets!!!!!!!!!! I called down to the front desk and housekeeping came fairly quick to changed the bedding, but left the dirty sheet sitting on the other bed. We also noticed the shower curtain also had a stain...so at this point I question the cleanliness of the hotel. After our first night, we left the room and came back several hours later to find our room not cleaned or serviced. When I inquired about why our room was not clean, I was told it was only upon request (in which I was never told that upon checking in), so I do not know if that was true or not.
Lastly, the room never seemed to get cool, despite us having the thermostat temperature on 65 degrees the entire time...and the room never got any cooler than 72 degrees. Called down to the front desk and an Engineer came up to change the air filter and to also reset the thermostat...and the room still did not cool down.
I only went with this hotel, based off of the reviews, and sadly, I was...
Read moreI stayed at the Drury Inn & Suites located in Tempe with my daughter while in the area for doctor visits. The hotel is conveniently located just off I-10, easy to get to, with plenty nearby to do. The hotel is clean and well kept, the staff very friendly and helpful, and offers so many lovely amenities. Our room was very comfortable, was spacious, and was just what we needed. If there was any one item I would update, it would be the bathroom faucet, it is shorter than preferred. The beds were very comfortable, next to no sound, the thermostat was easy to adjust, we slept well. Breakfast was standard continental with the added hot items such as eggs, potatoes, and sausage. They offered waffles, oatmeal, tortillas for burritos too. There was a good deal to choose from. If I was to make any additions it would be real butter, variations of hot tea, and bacon. The evening meal was a wonderful treat, no need to go out, stay in and enjoy the great staff and a nice little meal. The offerings included soup, pasta, and chicken. It was a filling meal. The bar was also open and guests were provided with two free drinks. The soda dispenser was available as well as popcorn too. A small convenience 'store' is set up near the front desk, again to keep you from running out anywhere else. All sorts of goodies included in this little area and the prices weren't terrible. We picked up a couple ice cream treats. We had a small dog along on our trip. The Drury is very welcoming to pets. A doggie area is located in back of the hotel with doggie bags and trash station. The pet owner should beware, coyotes are in most cities and there were many around this area too, as evidenced by the dung in the nearby empty lot. We kept our little one close and didn't see the coyotes until our final day at about 11am. All in all the Drury offered us just what we needed, a comfortable...
