Worst hotel we've ever stayed in. We stayed Sunday night, April 21st. The employees were all very nice but that's as far as the quality went at this hotel. The room was small, dark, dank, and nasty. The carpet was stained with who knows what. The ceiling and trim in the bathroom was coming apart. There was an inch wide gap around parts of the door that allowed the cigarette smoke in from the smoker next door and a crushed cigarette butt outside, indicating that the non-smoking room that we were in wasn't really a non-smoking room (evidence of smoking in the room included the cigarette burns on the bathtub . Called the front desk to complain and they offered our original room but it still hadn't been cleaned and probably wouldn't be until late. We had already unpacked, so ,no. I stuffed towels in the gaps around the door.
Our stay started out ok. We arrived early and they tried to accommodate us but the room was on the side facing the highway. No go. The road noise was ridiculously loud. Went declined and decided to go get something to eat while we waited for them to clean the room that we were supposed to get, non-smoking king. We were told it would be ready by 3. We get back at 3 and are given our keys and go to the room and find the door open and the room had not been touched. I go back to the front desk and they apologize and offer to put us in a double non-smoking. I agree (I'm tired by this time.) This room needs to be cleaned but the housekeeper does it quickly so we can get in. (Why couldn't they just have quickly cleaned our original room if this was an option?) We go in and find a disgusting room. If there had been a vacancy somewhere else, we would have left, but as it was, we had no other choice but to stay. I never felt safe because the door had previously been busted off the frame (see pictures) and another lock had been installed. I cannot warn you off of this hotel enough. Just stay in Forsyth if that's a possibility for you or the other hotels in town. ( I think you would probably have issues there as well, as this town doesn't seem to take any pride in their travel accommodations.)
They need to tear this place down and start over. The employees deserve a better place to work. I'm sure I'm not the first person to complain to the front desk worker about the horrible conditions at this place. They should pull the Quality Inn franchise from the owner.
We will be contacting the Choice Hotels to...
Read moreI checked in to The Quality Inn in Thomaston, GA at 2:45 pm on a Sunday. The lady at the desk was completely rude and would not let me check in till 3:00 pm. The room was ready but she refused to check me in. I knew I was in trouble at that moment. And then it was around 6:00 pm and I wanted to take a shower but there was no hot water. I went down to the front desk to ask why I had no hot water and she screamed at me saying " What do you want me to do about it?" Screamed at the top of her lungs. In then told her I should not have to pay full price for a room without hot water. I go back to my room and about 10 minutes later a get a strong knock on my door and it was two Thomaston city police officers wanting to know what was going on. There were three squad cars in the parking lot. I sat down and told them and they just told me to stay away from her the rest of the night. I was furious. I packed my stuff up and slept in my car in the Ingles parking lot. I called the front desk the next morning and the front desk lady did not even know what went on the night before. She said that was the worst thing she has heard in a long time. NO KIDDING. They took my charges off my bill and apologized but I take little comfort in any apology from anyone at that hotel. I stay in hotels every week with my job and I am a diamond elite member with choice hotels and have never experienced anything like that ever. My warning to those thinking about staying in Thomaston, GA- If you stay at The Quality Inn you are putting yourself and your family at risk. No doubt about it. WORST HOTEL ON THE FACE...
Read moreRecently booked our stay here as we always do visiting family in the area and we received a text from the hotel stating we were VIP guests for $100 + a night this place has went to hell just like the rest of thomastons accommodations the only plus I have to say is the staff is really great the rooms are very bad nasty carpets nasty furniture pretty sure that’s blood behind the night stand staining the carpet walked in the room and it looked like someone was walking out of the room with a lit cigarette and their ash fell off and it was never a thought to clean the carpet Pretty sure that’s a beer top by the nightstand between the chair and the night stand from a previous guest tub and the bed toilet bed linens all have cigarette burns on them. If you decide you want ice please bring it with you or you will have to go get it in the lobby and the bucket provided by them is definitely not clean it also has cigarette burns on it like how do you not clean jut the ice bucket it’s plastic replacements are cheap the pool hasn’t been cleaned or open in the last three years like I said the staff is definitely the best thing about this place!
