Waterfront Inn PHL Airport — Hotel in Tinicum Township

I stayed here for one night driving home from NC to RI. Booked online via Expedia without issue. I arrived later than typical check in, around 10:15pm. They gave me a courtesy call around 10pm to see what time I was arriving for my reservation, to which I advised my arrival would be about 12-15 minutes. When I got there, the office was empty. I yelled for someone twice and still had to wait 10 minutes to be checked in. After driving 8 hours, I was tired and having to wait was irritating, but I got over it. The check in went smoothly and I was given a room on the second floor facing the water which was nice. There is no elevator. If you arrive after dark the walk to the room is VERY buggy because they have flood lights in the common areas. I walked into a spider web and met an unwelcome friend in the process 🙃 (the spider). The outside has SO much potential because the water is really nice. A lot of the decor is broken and run down. If It was all removed and replaced with some kind of sitting area with string lights it would give a way better view, in my opinion. The room is a typical motel room. The more you look at it, the more you notice it's flaws. The floors were sticky. Whatever they clean them with (if they even do) mustn't be compatible with the type of flooring that's down. The room had two clean queen beds, an apartment size fridge, microwave and coffee maker. The bathroom has a weird drop ceiling which I thought was odd, but I did a thorough walk through and saw no sign of anything out of the ordinary. There was a faint smell of cigarette smoke, but the door leads right to outside, so I'm not surprised if there are people smoking nearby. The room is spacious and with the proper upgrades, this place could really be something beautiful. I'm not going to say don't stay here, but there are definitely better budget...

I want to give this place 4 stars but not there just yet. 3.6-3.8 is a more accurate number.

Jennifer at the front desk had a smile that could brighten your day. You can tell she genuinely wants you to enjoy your stay cares. Checking out had that great big smile and make sure we enjoyed the room.

Walked into the room and had a smoke smell with it being a non smoking room. It wasn't over bearing but you can tell a smoker had been in the room before. Turning on the AC helped get that stale smoke smell out with the door open for a bit. Bathroom was clean!

Then we all know as soon as you walk into a hotel we rip off the sheets inspect the beds and pillows then you can relax. While inspecting we noticed stains on pillow cases and sheets some with a few holes. Just seemed like wear and tear from having it for a while. Half of the pillows I didn't want to use half of the pillows because after taking off the pillow cases the actual pillows had stains. So just sat them to the side.

As for location, near the airport it is not at all a bother. At least not for me, you can hear them but it was fine. Very very nice park right next to the parking lot with sitting areas, a walking path, playground, views of the water and being able to sit and relax if you're moving a bit slower that morning. The neighborhood is out early working out and very friendly.

Affordable? 1 night under 130 a night and take this with a grain of salt because prices always fluctuate but for a weekend not bad at all.

Places to eat- We went into the city to eat but Jennifer was prepared and have menus for all of the surrounding restaurants. In the neighborhood.

Would i stay again?

Yes, very affordable and like other reviews say, it is a hidden gem.

CONS : Room stinks like cigarettes especially in the restroom. This is a non smoking room. Ants come in from the door. Had to wipe one off my bed. Door had big crack in it snd you could see daylight through it. Floor throughout the room is very sticky. Celing in restroom is super low. I am 5'5" and cannot reach over my head without hitting the light or the celing. Celing tiles are all crooked. White shower curtain has stains on it. Opeded white 'fresh towls" to find long black hairs on them. White Comforter had stains on it and a cigarette burn mark. Opened curtain to find a sippy cup. Not sure how housekeeping missed that. If they cleaned at all. Fridge was turned off so when I opened it..it stunk very bad. So food i brought back went to waste. Walls and furniture look dirty and grimy. They need To be wiped down. TV remote doesn't work properly. Lots of stray cats around the rooms outside. You can hear them fighting at night. Random chicken bones on platform as you walk to your room I'm sure it's from the cats. Which attracts the ants. Didn't use heater in room because it stunk. Breakfast consists of small muffins, bagles, pancakes - which weren't bad - cereal and oj that tasted expired.the surrounding of the building is dirty. They advertise dominos on their key cards but it took 2 hours for a medium pizza to be delivered. made my reservation online so didn't realize how gross this place was.

PROS: front desk staff is very nice. They did come wipe out fridge and spray some sort of solution in front of door foe the ants but it didnt help. View is nice and there is a park...
