I rank this Courtyard in the bottom 10% of all the courtyards I have been to, at least in the US.
No one specific egregious harm was done, it's just a series of disappointments and poor service and decisions.
Overall we had a nice stay. The room itself was neat and clean and we didn’t have much noise, even though we went to bed early. I saw other reviews before our stay. One said the TV was hard to see from bed - it’s on a swivel hinge on the wall. Just turn it. Saw another that said wife couldn’t wash hair because shower head didn’t have enough pressure - it is adjustable. Just change the setting. For us, the room was a little small for 3 people, and the pool was a major negative. The floor near the pool steps was so slick my daughter fell three times just trying to get in/out. The third time she scraped skin off her foot and knee and that ended our night horribly. When we went to the desk for help they didn’t even have a first aid kit. She was bleeding badly. I’m pretty sure the clerk gave us the one bandage she did find from her own purse. The water was also pretty cold for a “heated” pool. There was also mildew in the corners of our shower, and no sheets or blankets for the pullout sofa. Luckily a review we read prepared us for this and we brought a blanket for our daughter. We just took the top sheet off the bed to cover the mattress, and there were plenty of pillows. It was also disappointing that the “bistro” is just basically a chintzy Starbucks kiosk with not-great coffee, and the only complementary anything was ice water at the front desk, or in-room coffee. (We never use those machines. Studies show they’re filthy.) Getting breakfast anywhere else was about a 30-60 minute wait, which almost made us late for an event. The bed was really comfortable, and there were lots of lights, outlets, and USB charging ports for electronics. The staff was friendly and helpful. Overall, it was a clean, comfortable stay, but next time we will book a place more in advance so we will have more options. This was the most decent option for $250 or less and we only booked a...
Read moreScrew these people and their hotel. All I wanted to know is if there was breakfast because I didn’t know. Every hotel almost ever offers it, seems like a reasonable question but the snobby better than me hotel clerk wanted to make sure I knew they did not offer it. I am very sorry I interrupted her day, I thought she got paid to help guests with their questions and so forth. Also last night when my husband came in he stood at the door not knowing at first what to do because we arrived later at night. The workers just stared at him as he obviously was trying to figure out the process. I guess they had more important things to do than to help a guest check in, and upon finally getting in the door being treated like it’s an interrogation is something I do not understand. You do not need to know why I am there, where I’m coming from or where I am going. Small talk is fine but I don’t need to be treated like a suspect. All in all whoever does the hiring here apparently likes smug personality. They made us feel incredibly uncomfortable. I would like to personally apologize that we had to make them do their job for a whole minute or two. I am a member of the hotel club so I will most likely be staying again at a different branch, and I hope that the welcome is more warming and inviting. It may not seem important but you have to realize as a company I have plenty of other choices. I am 100 percent that other people have had the same experience. As a business owner I know that each customer is potentially worth 10 sometimes 30k or more a year in revenue. Lose enough of that and you...
