Our family was looking for a place to host our first attempt at a family Reunion. We all agreed that Lake George would be a nice vacation spot for a week long Reunion. I found The Boulders on line and started a conversation with their manager Joanne back in September 2021 for our Reunion in June 2022. We needed 9 different accommodations for multiple families with kids ranging in age from 1-18. We were to be 30 people in all. By sheer luck we were able to pull together the accommodations. I stayed in one of the cottages with my husband, daughter and 2 grandkids. Plenty of room with one smaller bedroom with a double bed and a large bedroom with 2 full beds. Fully equipped kitchen: stove/oven, good size fridge with top freezer: microwave, coffee maker: toaster. Utensils, ceramic plates, bowls and cups and plastic glassware. It was enough for all 5 of us. The air conditioner was in the living room and it kept the whole place well cooled on those hot days. We had a big front deck with a table and benches and railings that accommodated all the beach towels and wet bathing suits. The deck was partially covered so there was shade. TV for the kids on their down time. Our cottage had a walk in shower. Some of the others had a tub/shower. It was clean. We saved a lot of $ cooking most of our meals. And yes we had a big 4 burner grill dedicated to our cottage as did the others. Oh and if you needed to the sofa was a sofa bed in the living room. The staff is extremely family friendly. The owner Mike takes pride in the services and perks they provide. Joanne has been working with Mike for 30 years. Many of the employees are related to each other so it feels like a big family. Anything we needed they did their best to accommodate us. They have kayaks, paddle boats, peddle boats as you are RIGHT ON THE LAKE GEORGE with beautiful views. They have 2 pools one for the roadside part of their resort and the other on the lake side. We all stayed on the lakeside. The pool was a busy place every day. We had spectacular weather so lots of water fun. At night they will light up a fire pit for your family. We met lots of wonderful guests having fun and my grandkids made fast friends. Most folks keep going back every year for decades usually at the same time frames. they see the same guests that become friends over the years. They have a full schedule of activities including ghost stories at night and a lunch BBQ one day for all guests and a breakfast for all guests one morning. They had a movie night on a huge blow up screen. A small playground, volleyball on sand, basketball hoop. A game room. No laundry facilities were available to us. Fresh bath towels daily as needed. Housekeeping is pretty much up to the guests. I bought cleaning supplies and lots of paper towels. You get one set of sheets/ pillowcases for your stay. Plenty of pillows provided and blankets. No hair dryers. Bring your own if needed. We had family flying in from all over the country so those of us who drove brought supplies like extra beach towels, paper goods. There are laundromats nearby as the Resort is very close to the Lake George Village. It’s close to many fun activities. They truly cater to Reunions as they made our Reunion t-shirts for us at no charge and we had over 30 shirts of all styles and sizes from onesies to size 3x. God Bless Joanne for all she did in making this Reunion a total success. Thanks to all of the employees especially Blake a real sweetheart who never was too busy to help us out. Everyone there works hard and our family certainly appreciated all the effort. Thank you Thank...
Read moreWe just got back from staying at the Boulder Resort. We stayed in the house (#45) and the house was absolutely horrible. The first issue was the furniture. Everything was old and worn and very uncomfortable The couch was the worst followed a close second to the beds. The stove smoked when you used it (plus you can’t open it all the way because it hits the window). Everything is kinda dirty. The grill outside didn’t have an oil pan and the dryer didn’t work and the outside was covered in poison ivy. The staff was unresponsive to any issues. So much so that we left a day early.||It’s also way out of the way, and on the other side from the lake. On the side we were on their was supposed to be tennis counts, which there weren’t. The “playground” was a couple little people houses. ||The lake was ok. The beach is super small because the own rents most of the lakefront out to boast. They did have good boats/kayaks/paddle boards to take out. |The pool is also small for the size of the resort and very crowded. The fitness room is insanely small. The whole place looks a bit rundown. ||I gave it 2 starts instead of 1 because my 8 year old liked all the activities they had. They did try and have something different every day. Which honestly does not make up for...
