Alpine Village, truly is, a "hidden gem". I have been coming to Alpine Village with my family for 10 years, 9 summers (which feels unbelievable). We have always been "lake", "rustic", and "woodsy" people and this resort is perfect for those looking for the same. 5-Star hotels are nice, but can never compare to the charm, friendliness, and quaint simplicity of Alpine Village. With lakefront property, a pool, canoes & kayaks to rent, a dock to jump off of into the lake, and other families to talk with; you'll never be bored. But if you want a nice day or night out - it is also close to all the Lake George Area and the Adirondacks have to offer. Not to mention the friendly family who run the establishment, and the best breakfast in town, both of which add to the fantastic experience of staying here. If you're thinking of staying - I highly suggest you do. (Say "hi" to Ernie for us!)

Perfect family vacation spot with adequate space to socially distance. Small beach area with couple of row boats for guests, BBQ pits, swings for children and a swimming pool. Ernie and family who own the place are very friendly. We got a cabin with 2 beds that will sleep 4 and a suite in the lodge that will sleep 6. Suite has a full kitchen (no oven), cabin had a kitchenette with refrigerator and microwave. Lake George shopping area is a few minutes drive or walking distance if you prefer. If I am to visit Lake George again, I will stay at Alpine Village.

Resort location is on the lake side. Rooms are around $115 but it is quite old. But it is worth the price. You will get a private lake beach in the resort. They have free Kayaks, peddle boat, motor boats for your use with $20 refundable deposit. During my stay there were very few people and we were around 15 people stayed in different rooms and we felt like we had a private resort only for us. It was a wonderful stay and will visit again.

Thank you Ernie & fam for a wonderful trip "home" after 25 years! Just returned from a 4 day/3 night stay in unit 20 (2 bedrooms, 3 beds, kitchen, bath). I had booked flights for our stay well in advance of finding lodging, and then realized the week we selected for my grandmother's celebration of life coincided with Americade. EVERYTHING online was booked, so I made a short list of motels/resorts to call and check for vacancy. My first call was to Alpine Village. Spoke with Ernie who informed me he only had one unit left, but required 4 night min due to the Americade event. My heart sank, as I was striking out everywhere and really wanted to stay on the lake, having lived in Lake George until age 12 before moving to Georgia, and had not been back in 25 years. I also knew we didn't need two bedrooms and figured the rate for the extra space would be exorbitant. Ernie and I got to talking, and as I told him the reason for our trip, he offered to let us stay for just the 3 nights, and the rate was just over $100 per night- for basically a small apartment! I couldn't believe it. I eagerly said, "we'll take it!". We arrived about 3PM and checked in with his daughter. I was almost brought to tears when we pulled in and so many childhood memories of my time on the lake came flooding back. The aesthetic of the log cabins, main lodge, and lake views took my breath away. As we approached our unit, we met a wonderful couple that we got to know during our stay who were there for the motorcycle event. Everyone we met on the property was so fun to talk to- my GA born and raised fiancé loved the northern accents and was shocked by how friendly and social everyone was (he may have had some preconceived notions!). Our unit felt like being at summer camp- rustic, appliances and furniture that may have been as old as I am, window unit ACs- and I LOVED it. Sheets looked brand new, towels were thin but clean and I brought my own from home anyways. Didn't cook or prepare any meals so can't speak to that- but loved having a full size fridge and dishes for our beverages and we did eat in one night with a pizza to go from Capri's. My dad ended up joining us in the extra bedroom for 2 nights as he drove up from GA earlier than planned so the extra space ended up being perfect. I'd say 90% of the rest of the guests were motorcyclists up for the event. They were all super respectful, no crazy parties or loud noises late night- I kept waiting as the days ticked on for them to get rowdy, but it never happened...LOL We had one breakfast in the lodge during our stay and it was really yummy- think a basic IHOP menu. Was fun to hear all the other guests who all know each other and have been coming here for years talk about their previous day or what was on the agenda for the new day. Overall- this was the perfect spot for us to stay for our trip to Lake George. This trip meant a lot to me- my grandmother's funeral, introducing my SOUTHERN fiancé who has never been in the northeast to just where it is I had the immense pleasure of growing up, and being in a town I had not been back to since I was 15 (I just turned 40). To a kindhearted owner that bent his own rules to let me stay a night short of the minimum and charged me next to nothing, to the repeat guests who made us feel welcome and like we belonged, to seeing the kids staying there running around OUTSIDE and living a childhood I have feared no one lives anymore. It is not the Ritz, there are not tempurpedic mattresses or 800 thread count sheets and Egyptian cotton towels, but it was absolutely perfect for us and my dad had a blast too. Returning to the scorching heat that is June in Georgia today, I am so thankful this place helped my husband-to-be fall in love with Lake George so we can go back together again and again. Move love to Ernie and the gang! We had a blast with y'all! Sara &...

First off let me just say this is the second grossest room I have ever rented. The only place just as bad as this one was Depe Dene which is also in Lake George. When we showed up we checked in with the owner who was nice to us. I did read reviews that he can be rude to some though, so beware. We got to our place and right away I knew it was going to be bad. Entering the room, which had the most outdated furniture EVER, we seen at least that it had a pretty god size fridge. The room was VERY dark as they had very dull bulbs. I literally had to use my phones flashlight to see things. The bathroom was the best room in the place as it had a bright light. The bathroom sink was disgusting and had corrosion all over it. Sink had cracked lines all over it. The water for the shower came out fast but the hot water did not last more than 10 minutes. The A/C unit was absolutely disgusting with so much dust my wife's eyes swelled up. I removed the filter myself and cleaned it, which took me 20 minutes because it had so much caked on dust. It also was spitting out white stuff which I assume was the foam lining because it was most likely decades old and corroded. I shut it off and didn't use it at all even though it was near 90 degrees the last day I was there. ||||Our room did not have a kitchenette, just a fridge and a disgusting coffee pot and toaster which looked like it hasn't been clean in years. The beds were absolutely horrible, uncomfortable and gross. The mattress sank in so bad I didn't sleep more than 2 hours at a time. Oh and the walls were missing grout and you could see so much dust, bugs and cobwebs right behind where you lay your head down on the pillow. ||||Screen door did not shut so I had to use a stick to keep it shut and more bugs from coming in. And if you like watching TV at night, good luck. Hardly any channels and the reception was HORRID! The pool was not filled or open so I can't review that. It has a decent beach area if you stay away from the cesspool near the pier. The field near the pool area is a swamp, so you can't play any games on it. I woke up with bug bites so the mattresses might have bed bugs, or the spiders decided to come out at night while I was sleeping.||||I can say I will NEVER EVER! rent this place again. This owner owns a million dollar home in Florida but yet can't afford to update his rental units. I rather pay an extra 100 to 200 dollars for a much better and cleaner place. ||||I'm not sure how anyone can give this place a good review, either they are oblivious to their surroundings or to high and drunk to notice. I have been giving reviews on tripadvisor for over 10 years and this place along with Depe Dene are the worst I have ever stayed in. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra money for cleaner and more sanitized place. It's sad that we are still dealing with covid and owners like this remain to be slobs and refuse to update or clean their units. ||||This is to the owner, you should be ashamed of yourself for renting such filthy disgusting places. Update your units or are you going to continue to be a slumlord. You own a multi-hundred thousand dollar home in Florida, you can spend the money to clean your places and update...
