This was a very mixed experience, and I hesitated between 2 and 3 stars. Here's why: We are a family of 5 with young kids and arrived late to no hot water. No staff informed us of that at check in — and did not seem particularly concerned that we were experiencing this. Thankfully it was resolved within a couple of hours, but caused a major disruption after a long drive. They have no phones in the rooms, and calls to the front desk by cell went straight to voicemail. So every time there was an issue during our stay (and unfortunately there were many), we had to go walk over to the office. No hot water? Go walk over. Told us there was a crib in there, but missing? Go walk over. Not enough towels for the whole family? Go walk over. Glass on the floor? Go walk over. This seems like a ridiculous way to run a hotel.

That said, as terrible as the attitude was from the front desk (with Javier as the one exception), the maintenance and pool staff were lovely. We enjoyed breakfast there, and enjoyed the beautiful view and beach access.

Cleanliness was mixed. The room appeared very clean at times, but we encountered an occasional dirty towel, and worst of all there was glass on the floor by one of the beds! We had a crawling baby with us, so I consider it sheer luck and quite a miracle that he did not ingest or injure himself. (That review would have been quite different!) My husband was not so lucky, and got a good shard in his foot the second day. We think maybe the glass had been slightly under/behind the bed and housekeeping must have missed it? Perhaps the bed moved an inch or two during out stay, and it was revealed? Not sure, but obviously that was very concerning.

Overall, we were looking forward to this trip, and enjoyed the visit due to the beauty of the place and the kind other staff. But the two women we encountered at the front desk put a damper on things -- they were rude and indifferent to guests, and a friendly or responsive front desk would have made this much more pleasant. How about informing your guests about the water situation at checkin -- nope, just a fun surprise for us! I don't think they batted an eye about the glass, couldn't have cared less about any issues. They most certainly made no apology, let alone any overtures to make up for any of the problems above.

On the day of our departure, Javier was also at the front desk and asked how our stay was. I asked if he really wanted to know, and he said he did, and I told him we would likely be returning to Lake George, but not to this hotel. For the first time, someone at the front desk seemed concerned with the above issues. (For the record, Laura was right next to him, listening and still completely silent and indifferent.)

After our discussion, Javier ended up walking over to the poolside bar, and comping us for breakfast, which was kind. We weren't looking for freebies, just a little professionalism from the front desk during our stay. His concern is the sole reason I am giving this hotel 3 stars rather than 2, but I hope they will straighten up their act. It would be a nice place if they resolved...

My mother, two boys (10 & 12), and I had such an excellent time at this hotel this past August! The hotel room was clean, the bed was comfy, and I adored having wood floors instead of carpet! We had an incredible view of the lake from our balcony in our Lake View Room and I watched the sunrise each morning thinking about how I never wanted to leave. 💗

Having beachfront access and kayak rentals right at the hotel was amazing. We swam and kayaked in the lake multiple times and had so much fun. We also enjoyed the pool and the pool bar, from which we ordered multiple times. (The sweet potato fries were so good and, though I was confused about why they give you jam with them at first, I was totally sold on it by the end of our trip!)

I also fell in love with the warming lamp in the bathroom. Why have I never experience one of these before? Such luxury to put it on after a shower or dip in the lake!

To address some concerns other people expressed in their reviews: I didn’t find the hotel to be noisy at all! We never heard our neighbors! We also didn’t notice an overabundance of bugs or spiders—sure there were a few on our balcony and one daddy long legs in our room, but that is nothing compared to the spiders I have at home! Lol. Also, I read somewhere that someone said there weren’t deadbolts on the doors, which concerned me so much I brought a door stopper in my luggage—well, it turns out there ARE deadbolts on the hotel doors so you don’t have to worry.

We did have some cracking in the shower ceramic near the drain, but it didn’t affect function and I’m sure it’s on their list of things to update. There are also a ton of stairs to get to the beach if your room is all the way at the top or you need to walk down the steep driveway. My mom had recently had a knee surgery and struggled a bit with this. My solution for next time is to just drive her down to the beach and drive her back up when we’re done. I say next time because we definitely do plan to go back!

Thank you, Lakefront Terrace for the unforgettable...

Upon arrival we were told we had one of our rooms upgraded. The first room was a lake view at the top of the hill. The floor had something sticky and when you lifted your feet to walk you had to peel your feet off the floor. Management sent someone to clean it, who came with a broom, mop and spray bottle. When that didn't work they bleached the floor with straight bleach. My mother was unable to stay in her room for hours until the smell cleared. The second room was the upgrade which was at the bottom of the hill closest to the lake (Rm 136). When we entered the room it looked fairly clean until we approached the beds . The duvet covers were filthy, sheets had not been changed and there was grass on them. The duvet itself had fresh blood on it amongst other things. Once again management was called. She came down to look at the room with housekeeping. Next, she took pictures, apologized and gave us the option of a $50 refund or full refund. Unfortunately, we had no where else to go and took the $50 refund. They stripped both beds and told us they would replace all bedding. At this point we couldn't unpack and decided to go get something to eat. Management called us when the room was ready. When we returned the room looked clean and we brought our things in. My son happened to look down on the sheet and saw something very tiny. He took a picture on his phone and zoomed in. My daughter then sent the picture to google to determine what it was. It came up as a baby bed bug! Quickly, we grabbed our things and went to the the office. The woman who had assisted us all afternoon was very apologetic, called the manager and they refunded us for both rooms. Once again, we searched for a new motel/ hotel but there were no vacancies and decided to drive home. DO...

This property should not be considered a resort. It is not within walking distance of the village, and the hotel is built entirely on steep hills, including the parking areas, which poses challenges for guests with mobility issues. I stayed from Friday to Wednesday. The hotel is family-friendly, with a small swing set, a slide, a pool area, and a small sandy beach. The staff were consistently polite and accommodating, and the front desk associate on Saturday evening was especially helpful in assisting us with the trolley. Please note, however, the hotel is not an official trolley stop and requires flagging it down. The cost for four people in a “beachfront” room was over $1,800. The property promotes itself as a resort largely due to its poolside service, which offers a limited fast-food menu. Pricing is reasonable ($6 for a grilled cheese or cereal, $12–$14 for cocktails), and service is friendly. The pool is heated, though pool towels are not provided. The guest room itself was underwhelming and did not meet expectations for the price. On the day I requested housekeeping, the bed was only superficially arranged with the same sheets, and no noticeable cleaning was completed aside from trash removal. The balcony showed significant wear, with broken tiles and rust that raised safety concerns. Additionally, the toilet was unusually low to the ground (approximately 14 inches), which may not be suitable for older or taller guests. Overall, the property does not justify the cost. Guests may find better value by booking early at a cleaner, more conveniently located hotel closer to town.

This is a great family friendly place and it is a good price for those on a budget. Everything was clean and the children enjoyed the pool. The pros: They have their own sandy beach, a heated pool, private balcony (if you get an upper floor, main floor is not as private but you do get your own space with chairs), Each terrace has several built in grills and lots of seating for a fun family BBQ, 1 min drive into downtown (you can walk, but there is about 1/4 mile that has no sidewalk and barely a shoulder on the already narrow road, so with kids it's better to drive down into town), and the view is AMAZING! (I bet you can watch the fireworks from their beach too.) The cons: Not really anything big... The TV is low sitting on the dresser, so it's hard to watch if you're laying in bed. The bathtub could use anti-slip sticks in the bottom and a splash guard on the back edge of the tub (if you move the shower head up it hits the back of the shower and water goes all over the floor... which the floors look amazing by the way!). All things I'm sure will be improved upon, since some of the other complaints I've seen in the reviews seem to be issues they resolved. Overall very nice, but I do want to stress that it is "Family Friendly", which means if you're on your honeymoon or couples get away I suggest getting a lake side room where it is a bit more quiet.
