I was recommended here from a coworker who stayed here almost 10 years ago. I have to say that my week here surpassed my expectations. This place was amazing. We chose a cottage with 2 bedrooms, one for the parents and twin beds for the kids. It had 3 HD TVs, an eat in Kitchen with a refrigerator stove and microwave. We had a nice sized deck attached with a charcoal grill outside. We were a 25 second walk from the beach. There was several playgrounds for the kids. I was amazed at the attention to detail that John had in place. I watched every morning the beach being cleaned and raked, bbq grills cleaned out and trash removed. This is a private cottage/cabin place to stay, so you can feel at ease when the kids are playing outside. All of the guests here were amazingly friendly as well. It’s no wonder why these families have been coming here for decades. It was sad to leave but we reserved another week for next year. If you want to truly clear your mind and just relax, this is the place to stay. It’s roughly 3 miles outside of Lake George Village, but yet centrally located from all of the attractions. My only suggestion is to book early. You can call John directly at the cottages and he will guide you through your vacation options. There are other amenities and cottage options for larger families. Read moreStayed here over the 4th of July weekend. We arrived after check in time but called ahead to let them know we were running late and it was not an issue. John the owner met and greeted us warmly. The place is next to the lake and available for use by the guest. The lake front is kind of small but charming. The cottages are close to the water. If you want a cottage with a lake view that sits next to the beach request cabin #1. You can go swimming but there isn't a life guard on duty. We rented a 2 bedroom cottage which was small but comfortable. The decor was dated but it's a cottage, just think of it as camping with running water. The cottage held 4 people without us climbing over each other. The shower was smaller than expected(just be nimble). Parking was not and issue as each cottage comes with a dedicated parking spot. The grounds are well maintained. Some of the other guest who were staying here were on extended vacations and have been vacationing here for many years . Overall this is a great place to stay when visiting the Lake George area. Yes I would...
Read moreMy family and I vacationed here for a week this past a July. While we’ve been going to Lake George for years, we’ve never stayed here, and didn’t know what to expect. As soon as we arrived, we immediately felt welcomed by John and his family. He went out of his way to let us know he appreciated the fact that we chose his resort among the many other choices in Lake George. During the course of the week, he personally involved himself in making sure everyone had what they needed, and was having a good time. You got the sense that he knew from experience how families wait all year anticipating their vacation and did all he could to try to make it special. You were part of his family, and he was part of yours. You just don’t get that at many of the other, “upscale” resorts that have sprung up in the area. If you want a vacation that harkens back to an era where things were simpler and old fashioned civility prevailed, look no further....
