Not bad, but not great. We had cabin 3 and it's a small double bed with a mini fridge. It's clean and pretty quiet. I don't like that the only door is a sliding window that does lock, but I wish there was an actual door. The shower is extremely small and I honestly don't know how any guy would fit. I'm 5'2 and 130lbs and it was very small and hard for me to move around in - looking at it I thinks it's about 3 feet squared - if that. The water pressure and temp were great. Also, if you're taller, you may hit your knees on the wall in front of you while on the toilet. There aren't any outlets in the bathroom and the lighting next to the dresser isn't good at all, so being a woman who does her hair and makeup, it wasn't ideal. There needs to be a microwave since there's a fridge but no way to heat anything up. There's an AC in the room but didn't use it as it was freezing this weekend. The owner gave us a little heater which worked well. The bed was very uncomfortable to the point that we both woke with bad back pain after the first night and went and bought a topper at Walmart for the rest of our nights here. The place does allow dogs, which is great. I have a support dog, so it doesn't matter for me, but it's hard finding places, so that's a plus. There's a TV but about 3/4 of the channels are fuzzy.
Overall, this place wasn't bad, but I'd probably look elsewhere to get better amenities and space. However, if you're looking for a cheap option and don't care about a lot of space, or are a single person staying in this cabin, then this place is good. I can only attest to the cabin we stayed in. The others here may be bigger and offer...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCute little cottages in Diamond Point, about 5-minute drive to all the fun stuff downtown and about 5 minutes up to Bolton Landing. The location is excellent.
We stayed in a one-bedroom cottage with a queen bed in the bedroom and a futon that pulled out and slept both our young kids. There was a little efficiency kitchen which was convenient, a little stove, mini fridge and freezer, and plates, silverware, cooking utensils, pots & pans. The cottage is definitely outdated and small, but for the price and location it was great. It served its purpose š
I thought the location was great with small kids because it's on the opposite side of the road from the lake so it's quieter, no loud parties at night so the kids could get to sleep no problem. It was very quiet and peaceful both day and night.
There's also an inground pool with tables and chairs that the kids loved swimming in every morning before we explored the area. Tom the owner was great! Very friendly and helpful, he helped us with whatever we needed.
The WiFi was awful lol, I didn't have any service at all at the cottage, but that's honestly my only complaint about the place! We'd stay...

Yes, itās small...maybe even dated, but you know what? Itās perfect that way. The evenings are quiet and itās located only minutes from town, and the price seriously canāt be beat...||||As for the owner, heās extremely friendly and cares very much about ensuring that your stay is as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. We had a slight problem with one of the rooms, and he took care of it without question or issue. The room we ended up in was recently renovated and cozy, very happy with it. ||||Itās nice to know that the Amber Lantern is in good hands. Iāve so many childhood memories there, itās nice to know that I can now create some new ones with my...
