Great bang for the buck! I've been coming here for years, and the staff has always been very kind, welcoming and down to earth. You can tell it's a family run business by the way they interact with customers. I normally bring friends along and the staff has always treated us like family and given us some awesome recommendations on activities, restaurants, hikes etc.
I've stayed in just about every cabin and room they have to offer at this point, and I have never been disappointed. I can't say the same for a lot of the other hotels with comparible prices that I've stayed at in the area, so now this place is my go to and I don't even have to bother searching and calling around. It certainly takes the stress out of planning it every time I come up and I personally can't justify paying double to be on the lake especially since this place has a nice big pool and poolside grills/fireplace/bar top to hang out with friends as well as horse shoes, shuffle, game room, and basketball hoop which we always get at least one game of "around the world" in on.
I've also noticed that they upgrade the property every year, so I always look forward to seeing what new improvements they made over the off season when I come back. For example, one year it was all new flat screens and the following it was poolside grills and nicer furniture. Bottom line is that you can tell they care about what they do and the customers they serve and that is what is most important to me. I give this place my highest recommendation and strongly encourage you to check it out....
Read moreThis is such a hidden gem! We're a family that's been coming to Lake George for generations. Ever since I started my own family, we've been looking for a unicorn... a place that takes dogs, and a place with mattresses that aren't 40 years old. We finally found the spot. Todd walked us through the reservation process and helped us book the appropriate unit for our family size. One of the things I really love is that there are accommodations here of all different types and price points. Some extended family joined us on our vacation and were able to get units that fit their needs. Todd was incredibly patient with my sometimes difficult mother. Now, this is a rustic Adirondack style resort.. not the Ritz Carlton. It's no frills and to be totally honest, that vibe is what I grew up knowing (we always stayed at Cronins in Warrensburg) so we're used to rustic and comfy. The cabin was spotless and amenities were plentiful. Our unit had everything we needed. We had a washer dryer, a full kitchen and a firepit outside that we used throughout our stay. The room code method of entry couldn't be easier.
The location is perfect, between the village and Bolton Landing. We enjoyed a family barbecue at the new pavilion that was a nice feature. Our kids spent many hours enjoying the pool. The family that owns the property are working continuously on improvements, and we look forward to returning for...
Read moreI went to a wedding around Lake George and this Lodge was one of the suggested hotels. There was a large car show in town so a lot of hotels were booked and prices were kind of high. We paid $250 a night for a 2 bedroom cabin. The cabin felt very cheap, the beds were quite firm and springy, and the pillows were terrible. We were responsible for bringing our own towels and there was a whole list of things we had to do when checking out including stripping all the linens from the beds. The shower was pretty dinky and because it's on a septic system the toilet paper was the worst. The kitchen was pretty well stocked and we had pots and pans, a blender, coffee maker, cups, plates, bowls, silverware, and other assorted kitchen items. It worked great for 2 couples and I could easily see fitting 8 people in a cabin if you use the pullout couch and the futon on the porch. We didn't use the fire pit but it was there out front with a couple chairs and a picnic table. We did use the grill which was the standard charcoal gill you'd expect to find in a public park. We only had metal tongs and no metal spatula or grill tools so we had to improvise a little. I didn't go in the pool but it looked clean and the water wasn't too cold when I dipped my toe in. We got in fairly late and they were happy to accommodate us with a late check in. While our experience overall was ok it was...
