This is EXACTLY what you think of when you think “B&B”! My girlfriend and I had a lovely time at Willenaway.
Kate’s home is GORGEOUS. It’s got the 1845 charm but with modern amenities. Every room looks like it’s from a magazine or Pinterest board - perfect decor to accentuate the cool parts of the house.
The beds are comfy, the bathrooms and living spaces are immaculate, and the host provides everything you could need. Fridge, microwave, dishware, coffee, books, games, recommendations, wine glasses and bottle opener, etc. Kate really makes sure you feel at home.
The breakfast is FABULOUS!! It’s cooked by Kate and her mother, and it was something we looked forward to. Even a meal as simple as eggs, toast, and hashbrowns were DELICIOUS! I especially loved the classical music playing while we ate. She even accommodated one of us being vegetarian and one of us not!!
The location was fantastic. Minutes away from Watkins Glen, 20 minutes from Corning, and walking distance from the cute little town of Montour. Central to everything but it felt like you were in your own little bubble away from everyone.
You can tell the host really enjoys what she does, and it makes your experience that much more amazing. Thank you for your hospitality Kate, we will be staying here again if we are ever...
Read moreGreat bed and breakfast! The check-in and check-out process was easy (everything is well organized) and communicating with Kate via phone was also very convenient. I loved the house (great decor, common areas etc.), my room (clean, comfortable bed, large bathroom), the location (super convenient to Watkins Glenn), and the breakfast (delicious!). Kate and Mimi were super accommodating, friendly, and even gave me a tour of the house and told me some of the history, which was fun! I stayed in the Nestled Nook, which was cute and comfortable. The only thing I would recommend is that if noise bothers you (and you want a room a little further from the other guests), then choose the View from the Top or the Mary Luiz Suite. The Nestled Nook is close to the Ruffled Roost room and I could hear the guests who were staying in there a bit when they were talking, but especially every time they went in and out to use their restroom. It didn't bother me much (perhaps not worse than noise in a normal home and somewhat guest dependent), as I was able to sleep super well regardless! Highly recommend and will definitely be staying there again...
Read moreMy husband and I just returned from a 2 night stay at Willenaway B&B! This was our first time at a bed and breakfast and it definitely was everything we could have hoped for and more! We stayed in the View From the Top room which is as very tastefully decorated and comfortable with an en suite bathroom and everything was VERY clean! It was so peaceful and quiet. Kate, the innkeeper, was a doll and you could see her personality and taste shine through in the decor and little touches (chalkboard with next morning’s breakfast menu, subtle music playing during breakfast, Jenga pieces where you can write your name and origin state) which really made this place stand out. And the breakfast - WOW - I wish I could have taken Kate’s mom home with us. Not only were they DELISH, but the portion sizes were huge and everything was so aesthetically plated. The location was very convenient for exploring either side of Seneca Lake and very close to Watkins Glen state park. And not even a quarter mile down the street is a HUGE waterfall that you just have to see. That was an awesome surprise! I would 100% plan to stay here again on...
