We recently spent four wonderful nights at Barrister's Bed and Breakfast in the historic town of Seneca Falls to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary in the Finger Lakes region of New York. Owners Ken and Diane are very welcoming and the ultimate hosts, thinking of your every need and striving to make every bit of your stay enjoyable.||We stayed in Erin's Retreat and loved the comfortable king size bed, roomy separate sitting area and nice shower. Ken and Diane provide all the little touches and extras and seamlessly go the extra mile. The locally-sourced three course breakfasts were outstanding and served on nice china with coffee, tea and juice options. Among our favorites were the baked pear, lemon cake and creative quiches with sides such as asparagus wrapped in pastry and grilled watermelon with prosciutto and special sauce. Ken and Diane also surprised us with a cake and card for our anniversary ... a very thoughtful gesture.||Barrister's Bed & Breakfast is conveniently located with a short walk to the town, where we visited the Women's Rights Hall of Fame & Museum and dined at various restaurants, all very hospitable with great service. We also did day trips to various wineries, a cidery and a local farm for a cheese tasting, along the Seneca, Cayuga and Keuka Lakes. We also highly recommend Captain Fred's Falling Waters Boat & Falls experience, with a boat ride on Seneca Lake & access to Hector Falls from Captain Fred's private patio adjacent to the falls (with wine and cheese too).||We highly recommend staying at Barrister's Bed and Breakfast when visiting the Finger Lakes, where Ken and Diane will make your stay a very...
Read moreOur recent 3 night visit in Seneca Falls at Barrister B&B was primarily to attend a wedding nearby. Also as we are history geeks, we wanted to explore the unique history in other small towns nearby. WOW what a delightful pleasure it was to have discovered this lovely home & meet the hospitable owners, Diane & Ken. Our sweet upstairs Grandma's room had a very comfy king size bed. A special touch was several lovely small wedding pictures of Diane's family ancestors decorating a bureau. A nice spacious immaculate bathroom completed the great space. Downstairs is a parlor for gathering & reading a good book or many of the informational pamphlets. Each morning a delicious fresh farm to table variety breakfasts was crafted by Chef Ken & served on Diane's different assortments of beautiful antique dishes. The artistically presented courses were served to us at the large dining table, while chatting with all the other guests. What a beautiful way to begin each day! Anytime of day, the huge front porch was a special place to relax & enjoy coffee, tea & marvelous chocolate chip cookies or a happy hour libation! It was our favorite place to chill! Watching it rain is a delight too. We definitely plan to return & visit some of the beautiful wineries nearby. |Thank you Diane & Ken for becoming our new best friends in Seneca Falls NY! |Faye & Carl from...
Read moreMe and my wife stayed at Barristerâs for a weekend. Itâs a nice little 5 bedroom bed and breakfast place set in a traditional Victorian house. The rooms have a themed vintage look. We stayed in the Yellow Rose room (Zuzu Bailey aka Itâs A Wonderful Life reportedly stayed there). The amiable owners, Diane and Ken went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and made us feel as part of their family. The rooms were clean and well equipped. There was no TV in our room and it was good to spend some quality time, reading and away from media. The breakfast was included and the gourmet meals were freshly prepared daily by Ken and Diane using local ingredients. Diane is an amazing baker and we loved her Danish pastry. The downtown area and restaurants are just a 2 min drive (or short walk in summer) from the place. We certainly plan to visit again and would love to stay at Diane and Kenâs...
