I would not recommend this motel to anyone. Rude customer service and poorly managed facility. Upon checking in, the manager was rude right off the bat. She questioned that we had a total of 5 people (3 adults, 1 teenager and 1 infant). I said yes. The woman proceeded to threaten me that she was going to be charging for an extra person since her policy is only 4 to a room. I told her that I didn't think my infant qualified as an adult, let alone there wasn't an option to add children to the booking. She proceeded to be rude and say we needed to get rid of one person. To stop this woman from being rude, we took the teenager down the road to our other family members at their motel to stay since we didn't want to be charged. On top of this inconvenience, our room was disgusting. The smell was enough to make you gag. We suffered through. Then at 2:30 am the window ac started making a loud noise and sparks were coming out! We unplugged it and had no air until we checked out. Then the thin shear curtains let the sun shine right in bright and early to wake us up which we didn't want. Then checking out, there was no one around in the office and at this point I threw the keys on the table and left. I highly recommend going elsewhere like Open Hearth Inn which us right down the road. The price I paid for this horrible place was definitely not worth it and I wish I would have gone...
Read moreHere is the short version of my saga. I made reservation online and then called the hotel to confirm it. The owner/manager could not take my name over the phone (she is not big on spelling, clearly), could not find my reservation (her "system was down"), got really irritated when I asked about the cancellation policy ("why don't you cancel right now?") and when I asked to confirm that we had, indeed, two rooms with king beds, she said "I am telling you for the fifth time, yes!". I tried to find an alternative hotel but everything else was booked - so we went there.||The best part was still ahead: when we showed up, the four of use, she said "I remember you; we spoke on the phone, and I didn't like your attitude"?" I said "What attitude? If anything, you were rude to me." She said, "I don't think it's going to work out. I want you to leave." Just like that. I called the police, and they said that in Maine, any business can refuse service for no reason or for any reason. I don't know if the owner is unstable or whatever but I would not recommend her hotel: if you reserve it, you may not get a room if she doesn't like your tone/face/accent/who knows what. ||The owner, in my opinion, would make a nice prison warden in North Korea - but she shouldn't run a hotel or any other business where actual people are involved. I have reported her to the local Chamber of...
Read moreI originally booked with Acadia Sunrise but due to a booking mishap they had to cancel my reservation and I got stuck with Leona's. It was one of the worst motels I've ever stayed at. The first night I couldn't sleep because of some constant banging that turned out to be a couple lanterns hung right outside my window and banging in the wind to the extent that they made gashes the paneling. You'd think the owners would know better. When I complained about it the next day, the owner said I should have called her, assuming that I knew what the noise was - I assumed it was just the overall crappiness of the motel falling apart in the rain. Other things: the wifi hardly worked, there was no shampoo provided, the water pressure was very low, killed 3 mosquitos within...
