Really cute little spot right near Acadia but outside the hubbub of the park and Bar Harbor. My friends and I stayed in the motel rooms and they were small but very clean and comfortable. The king beds were great and super cozy and comfy after a long day of hiking and exploring the area. The owners and staff are very thoughtful, providing plenty of firewood and starters, s'mores kits and roasting sticks, dog toys and treats, coffee, light non-perishable breakfast stuff, condiments for roasting hot dogs on the fire or grills, and probably lots of other things I'm forgetting to mention. I liked being able to text a real person with any questions that came up and I always got a speedy and informative reply. Tina was super nice- met her on the morning we left and she was all about making sure we had a great stay. I also love that the place is truly not just dog friendly but downright welcoming, with no pet fee and plenty of amenities for the pups. The only downside is that the road is rather busy and loud when you're around the fire pit, but it is set far enough back from the road that it doesn't feel unsafe or anything, and the road noise does die down significantly at night (didn't notice it at all in our rooms and it didn't disturb the conversation around the fire once it got dark). Definitely need to keep dogs leashed here though. There is also a bar across the street that had live music playing which was kind of a nice addition to the ambiance and we didn't find it disruptive at all but perhaps others might not enjoy that. Overall really loved this place and will stay here again if we're ever...
Read moreI have always rated Isleview very highly, but no more. Why, you ask? Well, we have been staying here for almost 20 years, but we won’t be returning because ownership has now gone corporate instead of local as was the case in the past, and they have seriously jacked up prices and have priced us out of staying here. Rooms are in the $183 range. Seriously, their prices for a motel with zero amenities are insane—they still have the real tiny half-showers, too. We didn’t even get housekeeping services at all during our stay. No phone, no pool, no restaurant, no bar, no 24 hour front desk, no housekeeping—you don’t get this but instead get high room rates. I get that the days of $119 a night are over. Some of the increase can be blamed on inflation, but some of it is greed. Don’t get me wrong—I don’t mind paying a higher rate, but there are no amenities here! For $183 a night, I expect to have services, at the very least a continental breakfast. I paid $185 a night for a REAL nice four star hotel in Innsbruck, Austria. It has a 24 hour front desk, a restaurant, a bar, a pool, a phone, a spa, daily housekeeping, and full breakfast. By comparison, the Isleview is a roadside motel. How can they justify $183 a night with no amenities? Seriously, go somewhere else. I don’t see how Ohana Inns will be able to survive this. Isleview has always been a budget motel, but Ohana is obviously looking to change the landscape. BTW: Ohana Inns also runs the Open Hearth Inn next door. You may want to check their...
Read moreThis place was amazing! My husband and I took a 9 day trip to Maine for our 10 year anniversary and stayed in a total of 4 places. This motel was by far our favorite accommodation. The owner Michael made you feel like family, he was a pleasure to talk to. He gave us a list of recommendations of places to eat while in the area. Cafe this Way was on that list and it is a must to try if in the area. The Monte Cristo was delicious. We stayed in one of the cottages and it was perfect. Very clean, beautifully decorated and the bed was very comfortable. This hotel is far enough away from all the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor, but close enough to enjoy everything. The price was excellent and you can tell the owners put a lot of effort into making you feel welcome. My husband and I enjoyed a relaxing night of playing corn hole and having a few drinks on our last night there. After being on the go all day it felt nice to have that option to just relax at the motel. When checking out on our last day and chatting with the owner he gifted us one of his photos that he sells in the office for our Anniversary! I highly recommend this place and hope we can get...
