I'm not one to use caps lock often but: THIS IS THE WORST HOTEL I HAVE EVER STAYED AT. In my experience, Motel 6s get a much worse rap than they deserve. It has always been my thought that most negative reviewers of ones that I have been okay with had unreasonable expectations for a hotel that costs so little to stay at because, while few have actually been nice, none of the many I've stayed at were bad. This one, however, was unacceptably terrible. I'm not a snob. I have stayed at dozens of budget motels over the years as it is my general overlook that paying a lot for a place that all you want to do in is sleep is wasteful. So when this place had a pretty good amount of good reviews and then most of the bad reviews I read did sound like they were coming from folks with higher expectations than I had, I assumed it would be a fine place to crash. Nope. I had to giggle as I went to write this review as the first 1-star review that I came across this time mentioned that he'd rather have stayed in his car than to spend $60 on his stay and that is the exact sentiment that I had before reading his. Not only would I have gotten a better night of sleep, but I'd probably have felt safer, too. To break this down in clear statements: I might have slept for 3 hours total... & broken up sleep, at that. There was constant noise from the building & what pretty much sounded like a party in the parking lot (& may very well have been). My non-smoking room reeked of smoke badly enough when I first got there, but only got worse as the night went on. The door was drafty enough that you could see light coming out from under it. The sheets were stained and pilled-up to the point of feeling rough. The common area (stairs, walkways, etc;) were revolting: garbage everywhere, some that was rotting, spills (some that looked like, & very well may have been, vomit), cigarette butts everywhere & just a general, inescapable, slime-like feeling. The remote control was CAKED with crud... like you probably aren't picturing nearly as much crud on it as was there (I stayed in a hotel sometime after that that had their remotes sealed in a bag with some message about being sanitary... had I seen that before staying in this Motel 6 I might have found it ridiculous, but after that experience, I totally appreciated the effort).
The ONLY good thing I can say about this place is that the guy at the front desk was friendly and competent.
Really. Avoid it. I don't know how any of the good reviewers had experiences so much different than mine that they could have given it more than 2 stars, at best, but I truly would rather...
Read moreOh boy where to start with this place ! First and foremost the lady at the front that checked me in was very friendly and put us in a ground floor room close to the pet area. Second the place is very quiet besides the traffic from the freeway but that was to be expected as it's right off the freeway. Outside area and parking lot was clean, didn't see any noticeable trash. They had poop bags for dogs in the pet area, kinda small area but it worked. Pool area looked decent size, although it's closed since it's seasonal and all.... It's November currently. Now onto the room itself.... No fridge, no microwave, no coffee machine, no tv guide that made sense, no food delivery menus. Trim around the door was extremely dirty, the wall by the bed and the bathroom wall looked like someone walked on them as they were discolored in various spots. The vent cover for the heater needed to be cleaned/vacuumed severely. However it did heat up the room quite quickly so that was nice. White bed cover isn't highly suggested with dogs that go out to the bathroom in the rain. :(. TV was hard to figure out, many of the channels said they were either scrambled or the connection was weak. Channel guide when it did finally pop up didn't match the channels that actually came in on the tv itself so that was frustrating. Most every channel that did come in decently was either a damn news channel, sports channel or advertisement channel. The very few channels and I mean VERY few, that had something to watch was showing something from 10+ years ago. And it was Dish. Bed was comfy but could've used more pillows and I'm pretty sure it was a double not a queen. Bathroom fan didn't work. Shower layout was a bit different, water took a few minutes to get hot and the pressure for a ground floor room wasn't very good. A couple more towels would be nice for those that have long hair. Only bathroom supplies was soap so don't forget your shower necessities! Room definitely needs a huge makeover/update. I think I see the ice machine, a vending machine and laundry machines as I was checking out. I've stayed at many Motel 6's in my life time and this one was by far the "wow" and not in the good wire kinda way. My friend called it the "by the hour motel that you can stay all night". At least the linens and towels...
Read moreIn addendum to my previous review from 5 months ago. The previous manager Laura had begged us to leave a five-star review regardless of the conditions of the room or the customer service . And were not very clean and smelled like cat pee, During one of our stays in July we left a change container with money in it on accident. We called shortly after leaving the motel and spoke with Gabby who informed us that no items were left in the room. We returned a few days later to stay again. At check-in we were handed a bag that had our empty container in it that we had called about we brought it to the attention of Laura that money was missing and she looked at the video camera And told us nothing was taken out of the room from the maids, so why were we handed a change container that was empty. We had found out the maid that grabbed it was Maria, from each stay after that we began receiving complaints of leaving the room trashed and dirty and smelly, we were then put on a do not rent list (dnr), we talked to Laura and informed her that the smell was from a previous person in there with cats ( we do not own a cat), we do not leave the rooms trashed, and feel this is completely retaliatory because we called out Maria who had taken our stuff and stealing. Shelly one of the front desk workers confirmed that she knows the maids steal expensive items and money and leave cheaper items in the lost and found. Shelly also told us that they will charge you full price instead of discount if they can get away with it not thinking you know. Up until we called out Maria for thievery we had not had any complaints. Laura was replaced for not being an experienced manager and was replaced by mark, we had been taken off the do not rent list because Laura felt that we were honest and even saw our room before we checked out each time and we stayed their multiple times after that , we had brought the information to Laura that Shelly told us and nothing was done about it. So after we were removed from the do not rent list, Mark took over and without speaking to us decided to put us back on the do not rent list for no reason.
Do not go here. They are crooked. Dishonest. And not professional.
Can Nancy y please get a hold of us to file a formal complaint against this location and...
