I will give it 10/10. The room was so clean and smelled amazing. The staff super friendly. The pool, hot tub and the gym are definitely a plus. Last, but not least the breakfast had various dishes, snacks and drinks. We will definitely come back because my kids loved it.|Read more on Tripadvisor||Richard Moore|2/5|a week ago on Google|Room was comfortable with functioning a/c, and if I was rating the service of the breakfast ladies alone, this would be a 4 or 5 star overnight. What on earth are you folks doing putting Stephen on the front desk though? He was rude and insulting as I tried to check out, and he is not fit to be in any customer-facing role.|Trip typeBusiness|Rooms3.0Service2.0Location4.0||Jane-OWyoming|3/5|3 months ago on Tripadvisor|First of all, the bed was quite comfortable (and I’m picky). The location is good since it’s near a great brew pub. However, the staff needs better training as no one was there when we arrived—then they all came back together. Overall, the hotel needs some updating and a deep cleaning.|Read more on Tripadvisor||CailTravels|4/5|2 weeks ago on Tripadvisor|We had a one night stay. Room was clean and recently updated. Breakfast was probably the best I have had a Best Western. Lots of choices. Staff was friendly. The pool was being remodeled when we were there, so that was not available (kind of a bummer). Parking is $10 per day, which was unexpected.|Read more on Tripadvisor||Christopher Chursin|1/5|a week ago on Google|I will start with we were told we could use the pool for a rehearsal dinner for my wedding that was happening saturday. I had a good amount of family staying at this hotel. Just before arriving an email was sent stating that now the pool was closed the whole month of september! Was told they would get with a neighboring hotel to see if we could use a different pool. Nothing came of that of course. We were also told we would not be charged for parking for the inconvenience. Yet was still charged for the parking. Also my parents were charged for a pet fee. Yet they brought no pets!|Now when I got there thursday September 5th 2024 I made two seperate stays because i didn't expect to be there thursday. I was staying until monday. The 5th to the 9th of this month. I checked into my room around 4 pm. My room smelled of urine probably from a dog and the t.v. did not work constant pixel issues. I had to deal with two new staff members who were nice but no clue what to do because there was no manager in sight. Ben the manager was the only good thing and kept it professional the next day, comping my room for the first day. It was one thing after another with this hotel. My parents room smelled like smoke and the smoke detector was covered with a plastic bag. I also had to check out Friday morning and check back in that afternoon because they wouldn't just keep me in the same room for the weekend. Therefore having to pack all my things that morning and unpack them again in the afternoon.|Hands down would not reccommend this terribly ran...
Read moreStaying in Truckee means you pay a premium for any room, which we accept. The Best Western isn’t the best in town, but it’s not the worst. But our experience was highly disappointing.||The location is perfect. It’s right off the freeway and accessible to local stores, eateries, bars, and other points of interest.||Check-in was easy, and the lobby was nice. The young lady, Savanna, was also very friendly and provided all the necessary information one might need (or ask about).||Our room (#148) was located next to the first-floor bathrooms and the office center. Upon entry, the room was what we expected. We had plenty of towels and the necessary toiletries. The motion-activated fan was annoying, but I guess having a bathroom fan is better than not having one at all.||Unfortunately, the room had a musty smell, which wasn’t too bad at first.||We had an event to go to, so we came back later that night and headed to the pool. The pool was advertised as heated, but it wasn’t. The water was cold. The Jacuzzi filter looked a little dirty, too.||After swimming and showering, we settled in and prepared for bed. It was obvious that the musty smell was pet urine. The cool air (from the air conditioning) seemed to cover it up, but when the air was off, it was pungent. We own a dog (that we didn’t bring) and support dog-friendly businesses, but it’s clear the rug hasn’t been properly cleaned in a long time.||The buffet breakfast is good -- real eggs and bacon made fresh. A hearty selection of breakfast options is available for those looking to eat healthy or indulge a little on vacation. The woman serving the food was lovely to my family and the patrons coming in; there was a wave of people. However, unlike most places that serve a buffet breakfast, it seemed the food was always plentiful.||When we checked out, I told the front desk person, and she said she’d note my response for the manager. I hope the issue...
Read moreThis is a cute, convenient and well decorated little hotel. The complimentary breakfast is one of the best I've ever had - they offer a make-it-yourself waffle bar which is both fun and delicious, a wide array of hot breakfast items (eggs, sausage, biscuits etc), many delicious bread options and much more. But be warned, outside of breakfast the only food you will find onsite is a very small selection of foods for sale. Nearby restaurants are your only option for lunch and dinner. There is a heated pool and large hot tub that is great to soak in, even in (especially in?) Winter.
Sadly, I must deduct a full three stars for what was the worst bed I've ever slept in. I really like this little hotel, but people rent rooms to get a good night's sleep and for any hotel, bed comfort is the most important factor. As you can see in my photo, the bed is made with a giant, mysterious lump in the middle. Perhaps this is extra padding to mask how awful the mattress is, I don't know, but it only made an already uncomfortable bed also feel awkward and annoying. The pillows are fluffed by housekeeping to look substantial, but the second you use them they deflate into tiny, sad little things that offer no comfort. Don't even try to use them to sit up in bed to read or watch TV,, they're not up to such a task. It is quite clear management is trying to save money in precisely the wrong places here.
After the first night, my back was very sore. After the second night, my back was so sore it hurt to breathe. Unfortunately, this bed ruined my trip (hard to play in the snow when your back feels broken), and ruined my impression of a hotel that is otherwise worthy...
