Warm on the outside cold on the inside. If that is how you like your burritos this is the place for you.
Lupine cafe well decorated, weirdest coffee machine I’ve ever seen, but their bahn mi and bimbibap burrito are made by local townies and pastries have been sitting there for weeks. $5 dollar pop tarts, $20 dollar day old quiche. I ordered the Carnitas Burrito and the bacon cheddar Ritto. Your would think flavor would win over style, until you realize the paper wrap is fused to the tortilla and you have to choose between eating a paper burrito or not having a burrito…. Paper is extra fiber right (💩? )
Maybe, until you see the $32 dollar paper “origami” earrings I could have made myself using google and paper from Michael’s Craft store for $5 dollars. What’s more the coffee cups cost more than the coffee and the earrings. Fingers crossed they’re all sustainable, and go to support the next tree clearing to support the RV park and golf course across the way. (#truckeetrails #nationalforest #hipstervibesoverhistory) like supporting someone’s passion project and beer fund in Truckee…… right? Cheer bros hope my $50 dollar burrito purchase goes to your next skit lift pass your parents refused...
Read moreCafé Lupine is a fantastic new coffee/breakfast hidden gem that just opened up in Truckee. Tucked just behind Fifty-Fifty Brewing and right on the edge of the Ponderosa Golf Club, this cozy café has all the makings of a new local favorite.
Our group of 4 stopped in around 7pm to check out their wine, beer, and cheese offerings. Peter (The owner) made us feel so welcomed, and with four beers on tap, a solid selection of bottled wines, and a few ciders, there was something for everyone. The cheese board was a highlight! Multiple delicious varieties which paired perfectly with the beautiful golf course views.
We enjoyed it so much that we came back the next morning for breakfast. The pastries were fresh and flavorful, and the breakfast burrito was a delicious way to start the day!
If you're in the area around breakfast time or want an under the radar wine/cheese night look so further! Café Lupine is well...
Read moreI’m a coffee shop lover—not so much for the coffee itself, but for the atmosphere and ambience. And I have to say, this is hands-down my favorite coffee shop in the entire Tahoe-Truckee area—and I’ve been to them all. The pastries are absolutely delicious, the interior is warm and inviting, and the view of the golf course from the outdoor patio is simply stunning. I had always hoped they’d extend their hours, and now they’re open until 8 PM most days, which is amazing. I absolutely love Dawn and Peter, the two owners—they’re incredibly kind and full of good energy. Even though it’s about a 40-minute drive for me, I’m more than happy to drive just to soak in the atmosphere and enjoy the view. I can spend all day...
