In the process of moving from Texas my family and I had to stay here why we waited for our house to go through escrow. The ladies and the lady manager in the office are absolutely awesome , they treated us like family and helped us with whatever we needed. Sue the groundskeeper manager and her brother are by far the most rude people I have ever met, they will harass you for the smallest things for example they had parked me when I first got there and after I got parked I asked several times if it was okay because I didn’t want to have to move it again as I am a medically retired firefighter on heart and lung bill and I am a full disabled veteran. Well what do you know three weeks in this person Sue that manages the outside grounds says that I have to move it over or leave with her sidekick brother or lover not sure that’s how weird it is. That’s just one of many scenarios. I could go on and on how my family and I were harassed by Sue and her brother or lover either way if this park was smart they would get rid of Sue and her brother or lover , very rude and not people friendly what so ever. The only reason I’m giving 2 stars is because the office ladies were awesome especially the manager they deserve 5 stars. I will only come back to this place if they Fire Sue and make Bill the head guy or someone that at least has some inch of respect. Bill the groundskeeper and the other older gentleman that works with him that owns the black allegro parked in front are good guys and the only good thing as an employee on the grounds, they are respectful and takes care of the guests. It’s not hard to be friendly and respectful when asking for something . Dealing with these type of people coming from Texas is a shock. These owners better take a good look at who’s running the inside of there park because you are losing business with employees like that. This business doesn’t understand that if you treat veterans badly and it’s reported they don’t take it lithely and you will see less and less business from veterans as if your red flagged from our community. If you are a veteran or are disabled I would not recommend this place until they switch some employees around.
PS there was also almost shoot out in front of our camper , woke up to a bloody murder scream at 3 AM to an man yelping and begging not to be shot on the property 10 yards from our site. I can honestly say I’ve never experienced anything like this accept...
Read moreOk, Bottom line up front did not stay at this place but felt compelled to write a review.
Coachland RV Resort in Truckee, Ca. Made the reservations a couple weeks ago, and the weather is coming in Sat (over 3 feet of snow predicted) when we planned to arrive. Called the place and told them we were cancelling becasue of the weather and Samantha told us since we were cancelling within 30-days we would not get a refund. When I complained and stated that they made $280 off of us for nothing she became very rude, claimed that they were not stealing anything from us, told us that its my responsibility to watch the weather and hung up on me.
Now, rudeness aside. When a site takes the full amount upfront on a reservation, and refuses to give a refund it feels a lot like theft to me. Understand that it is in practice at a lot of sites, and that is their policy, but it IS unethical. We gave them over 48 hours notice. I think it would be ok if they charged for one night, but the entire amount? It made my blood boil and really triggered my BS meter.
We have stayed at many sites that took the entire amount up front, but then if we cancelled they would refund all except for one day.
Anyway, Lesson learned. I will never stay at Coachland RV resort, I will tell everyone I know to avoid the place, and put reviews on every site I can. And, in the future, I will NOT be staying at sites that charge the full amount up front and do not refund. If that is their practice, they have seriously lost my business forever. We, as a group, will have to make the industry change this practice, and it can only work if we commit and force them to change. We as full timer RV'er should have the power to force the parks to change this practice simply by not...
Read moreOur experience was very disappointing. We booked one of the adventure cabins and while the cabin and grounds were nice and kept well, communication from the Village Camp Resorts team was greatly lacking and unclear. We were not provided with any check-in instructions confirming the cabin we selected is the one we’ll stay in or where we needed to go first on the day of arrival. It was only when I called the morning of our check-in that they told us to check-in at their office and we’d be provided a map to our cabin and further instructions then. However, because we only live a couple of hours away, our plans were to head out after work. But because we booked the cabin during an off season, the office closes early (at 4pm), which was the time we were planning to head out. This was also not shared with us and had I not called and shared our plans, we wouldn’t have known this. We didn’t get there until after 6:30pm so it was cold and getting dark when we arrived. They ended up leaving our check-in packet on a table outside of the office but to add to what we’ve already experienced so far, we struggled getting into our cabin because the packet didn’t include information on how to get into the cabin or where to find the key. There was a lockbox next to the cabin door so we assumed the key was in there but the packet didn’t include a code for getting into the lockbox. Thankfully, there was an after hours number in the packet so we ended up calling that number and the person we spoke to then provided us with the code.
Lastly, some of the reviews and even their promotional videos state that Saturdays they offer complimentary breakfast in their clubhouse, but none of that was shared with us...
