We have a week of meeting at their conference room about Value Study Planning of one of our dam's project. Different people (around 12) came from different location and states. To be fair their room is rather clean and the breackfast is not bad. My main problem was with the management/personnel team, which I have not experienced elsewhere before after a lot of travels across the states. The check out time is 11:00 am. At 9:00 am when I was in the conference room I got a missed call and message from the hotel which actually was saying that "we were trying to empty the room and took your stuff down stairs if you need anything please come here". I went to reception and told them I haven't checked out yet! they told me sorry it was a mistake. Around half an hour later I went to check my room, apparently they did turned back some of my stuffs but not all of them?! Again between the conference I went back to reception and told them about the problem, again we are so sorry, we will put them back in your room. About an hour later again I went to check the room out, the door was totally open, TV was on and all of my personal/sensetive goverment stuff and laptop were exposed to everybody in the Hotel. I came down at the reception for the third time during the conference and asked to talk with hotel's manager. The lady (manager) told me that I'm sorry and was trying to make it up for me by waving my parking fee and some points. I mentioned that before the checking out the room every where in the world, the room is for client and everybody has his/her own valuable/personal stuff (in my case federal information). I'm not sure if she caught it right or not, but if you are decided to spend at this hotel please don't leave your valuable/sensetive stuff in your room, it is truly a zoo out there and they clearly don't know what the hell they are doing and what's people privacy look like?! To me what all hapened was unacceptble and I transferred the memo to the manager as best as I could. Thanks for reading, and I hope that I could help...
Read moreI would say the front desk staff are fine, but I have more of an issue with the business itself. I just stayed there last week for 2 nights, and it was ski week, so the rooms were priced at $538 per night, and after tax, I paid $609 per night. Given the price tag, I went in expecting an experience closer to the four seasons (well, they are priced similarly), and the new Springhill suites truckee looked bright and shining on the website. Instead, I got the following:
First off, the room itself is dark and miserable. the bathroom fan never turns off. the heater never turns off. Constantly noise and wind blowing. I got up multiple times to make sure the wall controller says "OFF". But the heater would still come on every few minutes, blowing cold wind all night long. (it's freezing out there, and the bed has thin flimsy blankets). One of the worst hotel rooms I've slept in.
Secondly, no housekeeping and no communication. I returned after a long day out to find the bed not made, trash not cleared. Granted, it's covid time, if that's the case, should we be told that there would be no house keeping? Not a word.
Thirdly, zero regard to covid protocols. Breakfast times, the small breakfast area was jam packed with people trying to grab food. No requirement on mask, or crowd control. I called for a lightbulb change, one staff showed up with the mask under his chin, and I had to ask him to put his mask on before entering my room. for which I am grateful that he kindly obliged.
two other thing, it's located by a highway, so you must have a car, and they charge you $10 a night for parking around the hotel. I asked for a hot water kettle to boil some water, No Have, sorry. The small gym in the hotel is a playground for babies, I hope none of the kids will get hurt. No supervision, no staff.
All in all. I came away, kicking myself, and vowing not to do this again, staying with big branded...
Read moreNo coat hooks on ANY wall. Nowhere to toss sweatshirts or jackets when you walk in. Just a small cabinet with coat hangers in a far corner. No blackout curtains in the windows. No soundproofing, I could hear conversations next door and in the hallway. Gaps in front door let light in. Bathroom has a clear glass opaque door. At night when you turn on the bathroom light, it lights up the ENTIRE room! . How can you use it at night and not wake anyone up. Its a 4.person room. Bathroom door takes a huge tug to open with both hands. Some ginourmously heavy barn styke door and hirt my wrists to open? Bathroom fan has no off switch and is terribly loud even with the bathroom door closed. The slide out trundle couch is beyond uncomfortable. |Took me about 10 minutes to find and finally heave open the cabinet door with the mini fridge, no labeling or anyhing. There is hardly enough light fixtures to see anything in the room. So dark! Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are community bottles! Who puts what bodily fluids in those and expects the next person to use it? Gross. Swimming g pool is smaller than the hot tub. No vending machines, just a couple refrigerators with snacks in the main lobby so from the 3rd floor at night you have to go all the way to the cold lobby, talk to the recept to buy a bag of candy. Who designed this hotel should be fired. Hire me as a consultant. No water pitcher, ice bucket was cracked. Only 2 blankets for and 5 pillows for a room for 4 people. Tv is hung very sloppy and sticks put dangerously . Head banger. This hotel is not set up for snow. It's a cookie cutter piece of crap. At least the bacon tasted good in...
