Sierra Bakehouse — Restaurant in Truckee

We put our special day in the hands of the folks over at Sierra Bakehouse and we were overall pretty happy with the results.

My wife and I got married at Lake Tahoe. Seven months or so before the big day we embarked on a cake tasting adventure to lock down our baker for the tasty centerpiece of our wedding day feast - the cake.

We met with some amazing bakers in the area, finally pulling the trigger with Sierra Bakehouse. We wanted an assortment of cupcakes for our wedding with a 6" round to cut and smash into each other's face on D-Day. We had a bit of a hiccup with our scheduled cake tasting (they forgot about the appointment) but they made it right. We were offered some incredible combinations to sample and they had some really good suggestions for frosting and cake pairings.

They were responsive to our requests for customizing the cupcakes and on game day everything turned out great. Communication with us throughout the process was pretty good. All in all we are happy with our experience with the team at...

No offense to any of the other shops in town, this is the best bakery around. Daniella and crew crush the Euro inspired breads and treats and her Carrot Cake is hands down the very best I have ever had. We get one for every special occasion we have and it never fails to blow people’s minds. Better get there early on Fridays if you want to miss the line that runs out the door. Good thing Ralph is next door with Pacific Crest Coffee which happens to also be the best roaster in town....

On Thursdays I begin salivating in anticipation for their Friday menu to post. Then every Friday morning I load up with a week's worth of their goodies - sourdough, croissants, cookies, pizza - the list is never ending!!
