Whoever designed these rooms must have been at least 5’ 10” because these beds are far too high off the floor. The bathroom counter height is also taller than standard. I don’t understand that and would love to see them renovate the place just a tiny bit by getting lower bed frames.||The shower head is also far too high, much higher than at many other places. If you are under 5”1” you will not be able to reach it to adjust it. Water pressure in the shower was barely adequate, but certainly better than other places I have stayed. ||The bed mattress was nothing to brag about. It was a standard mattress with an average comfort level and zero memory foam. If you have back problems, the mattresses at Hampton Inn may or may not make that worse. ||The positives: The breakfast area with 24-hour coffee and tea is lovely, although for some reason, the hot water there is not really hot. If you want a cup of tea you may need to reheat it in your microwave. But it’s great to be able to grab a cup of camomile tea before bedtime, or a free coffee in midday.||The breakfast offers many options: Usually a different kind of omelet each day plus potatoes and a different kind of sausage or bacon. There are also waffles, yogurt, fruit, real oatmeal, cold cereals, hard boiled eggs, muffins, toast, bagels, peanut butter, etc. It’s a generous breakfast buffet. ||It is also a very quiet place to stay. High marks for the quiet. My room was large and had window shades that completely block out the sun if you’re a day sleeper. The room includes a large TV, microwave, mini-frig, iron that is better than the one I own at home, ironing board, plenty of towels, and Earth-friendly large size dispensers of lotion, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. You also get two make-up remover towelettes which is a nice convenience whether you wear makeup or not in hot Tucson. Great-functioning AC controlled by a thermostat.|| Since the building is newer construction, it doesn’t even get that hot in the room if |you leave the AC off during the day because it’s a...
Read moreWe booked a King suite and when we arrived the only room we could get was on the 1st floor as the hotel was sold out for UofA Homecoming. Well, I will never stay on the 1st floor ever again. Whoever was above us didn't stop stomping all night and still into the morning. Not sure what the heck was going on up there, but at 6:30 a.m. I had had enough and went to the front desk to tell them if the person above me was not checking out then I would be because I couldn't take it anymore. They assured me they could move me to a new room on the 3rd floor and by 11:00 a.m. we were settled into a quiet room. Both rooms were extremely clean. The 1st floor room actually had a more comfortable bed but 3rd floor was okay. Loved the sink area outside of the toilet/shower area. Spacious room but for some reason my computer wouldn't work at all on the 1st floor but thankfully worked just fine on the 3rd as I had work to complete. Pool area was a little disappointing as I am used to the Hampton by Tucson Mall that the pool area is connected to the lobby and has a more tropical feel with potted plants and plenty of lounge chairs. This location you had to walk down the sidewalk of te parking lot to get in. Just a little odd and not really much of a pool area. Parking was fine but did find it odd that a ton of Fed Ex cabs park there taking up a lot of space. Breakfast was mediocre and sadly probably one of the worst selections for a Hampton all 4 days. The hotel is more updated and very clean which is probably the only reason I would consider staying again in the future, but if you're looking to relax at a pool and have a decent breakfast, then sadly this location wouldn't be the...
Read moreWhat a sad world we live in. |There is no empathy for one another or the circumstances they may endure. It is a “we don’t care”; “ it’s not our policy” kind of world. |This hotel is a prime example. I made a same day reservation due to a pet emergency. I live 3 hours away and wanted to be sure to have a room close to my pet. Unfortunately, the Animal Hospital I went to could not see my baby after I sat there for 41/2 hours. I called the Hampton to see if I could transfer my reservation to a hotel on the Northwest side of Tucson, where I eventually ended up with my pet. No, I was told… “.. not their policy…”. I asked if I could get a refund since I wasn’t going to show…no “… not their policy…”. |I called Corporate Offices ( “… they don’t do refunds… sorry….” But they patched me through to the hotel. Girl at front desk ( obviously having a bad day) would not let me speak to the manager and in an unfriendly tone let me know I “… signed a contract with them and if I didn’t show up I still had to pay for the room…” I tried to explain it was an unusual situation and I would have been MORE THAN HAPPY to provide “proof” that my cat was seen across town at midnight… I understand some people lie… I’m not among them. |How frustrating to have such an emergency come up as I did and|have the Hampton, rather than try to rectify the situation in SOME manner, and show empathy for a fellow human being, policy up and figure I’m trying to pull one over on them. |Please stay somewhere else if you feel you may need to cancel or transfer your reservation… this Hampton/Hilton just doesn’t care. |What a sad...
