This is my experience. Do with it what you want.
I came into town to visit family family, and when I do, there's a handful of places I like to go and eat at. MOD's is one of them. I usually go to the one on N. Oracle, but we saw this one and thought it was time to eat.
My first impression was that it was the same as I remembered. The selections are great, just like what I remember from the other place.
Ordered the MOD unlimited and got everything on it that I liked, which is a lot. It's so good and no, pineapple does not belong on a pizza. Lol.
Everything was great. I paid for it, no problems there cause is such a great price.
When we go to find a table, here's where it all starts going downhill. So we're trying to find a table, and all the empty ones are dirty and need to be wiped off. And before anyone says it, they were not that busy. There were at least 4 employees with 2 talking to the 2 working and maybe 3 tables, including ourselves for diners.
Found a table, wiped it off, and sat down. Music is playing, and it's perfect for the place, enjoyable. As you start looking around, you can see the here and there of uncleanlyness if the place. Maybe it's done at the end of the shift, I don't know. It's atmosphere, and it's noticed.
After a short wait, our pizzas were ready. The service was fast, that's another great thing about this place. But this time might have been a little too fast. I don't know how you normally eat pizza, but what I do is give it a few minutes to rest before I eat it. Just a couple minutes, nothing big. And then I start eating. The crust is almost perfect. It's not too hot and not cold. It has that outer ring crunch and crispyness. The topping for the most part lukewarm, but there was so much of the top layers cold. The cheese was melted, and i think that's when they thought it was ready to come out. There was no wilting of the tomato edges, and they were still cold. The roasted garlic was cold, along with the roasted peppers, and so was the artichoke.
It was just a bad experience that it will be a while before I go back to this one.
The restrooms have a coded lock on them, so remember to get the code from the counter if you might be needing it.
The Velvet Cake Ding-Dong is nothing to brag about. I found it lacking taste and not really worth it. I mean, I had to try it because I like Velvet Cake. There original foil wrapped Ding-Dong is...
Read moreDecided to give it one more try because my son requested it. I arrived to pick up pizzas and it took a long time before I was asked who I was picking up for. It was not busy dine in wise. Finally I was told my last pizza was just being cut. A few minutes later I'm told they lost my whole order and will throw a new order in right now. Highly disappointed how this place has turned out. We used to dine here weekly. Worst part is they don't ever try to make things right. Even Little Caesars will give a discount/partial refund or a replacement order free the next visit. And I always tip when I pay since I don't carry cash so I am tipping awful service when I can go get a hot and ready for way cheaper and not have to tip.
We usually love this place and frequented often. The last 3 times we've had nothing but problems. Tonight we waited an hour to be called for our pizzas and that's only because we went up and asked when it'd be done, only to find out they "forgot" to call my order and my pizza had been sitting and was cold. Was not even offered to remake them fresh because "everything was there". Seriously debating whether or not to go back at this point because the service is slipping so badly. I paid and tipped then waited an hour and got served cold pizza with no apology or offer to at the very least reheat or remake my pizzas. Very...
Read moreI don’t know why I keep giving Mod a chance. Time after time I’m disappointed. I’m gluten free, and it’s hard finding good gluten free convenience food. I’m busy getting ready for a project, and didn’t want to cook tonight, so my husband suggested Mod. I had forgotten about my prior disappointment with my experiences here, but was reminded when he brought home my pizza. I got the “gluten friendly” crust, because when I’ve gotten the cauliflower one it always ends up soggy. I got the Jasper, added tomato and fresh garlic. The gluten friendly crust was flavorless and hard, like cardboard. There was barely any cheese on it, and about five pieces of spicy chicken sausage (which actually isn’t spicy and has zero flavor) and four mushroom slices. They didn’t even put the fresh garlic on it. The toppings were so skimpy. I guess they skimp on the toppings for people who only get five toppings or less, to make up for the fact that they don’t charge extra for the people who get 18 toppings on their pizza. This experience was enough to make my memories of Mod stick. I will not...
