I drove in late from Queen Creek, AZ to Tucson,AZ to visit family with my infant son, and I asked the price man at 1st said $35 then when I mentioned the advertised price he went down to $30 not including taxes. I went to check the neighboring hotel pricing and because the next hotel had too much traffic I decided to back to Travel Inn. They were very rude when processing my order then followed me to my car to make me sign the slip they should have made me sign at the window. I went into the room and at 1st glance everything seemed to be fine, my infant son was asleep and I got ready for bed, he soon woke up and I fed him his bottle, at one point his bottle fell between the dresser and bed, I let him down to crawl while I retrieved it to avoid him from falling off the bed. He went to play with the empty black trash can near the bathroom and when he moved it I saw a pack of tobacco rollies inside it was a broken clear pipe. I then put my son in his car seat for his safety and go get his bottle. When moving the dresser aside I find broken pieces of glass every where on the floor and I grab the bottle and find residue of left over drug paraphenalia. I look behind the other dresser and find a empty opened box of condoms and cheetos and other misc trash. I look in the drawers and theres papers and wrappers and broken hangers. I pack all my stuff it has only been a little over an hour and I decide I am leaving for the safety of myself and child. I then talk to a hispanic lady and kindly ask for my money back and tell her the reason why. I even showed her the pictures I took with my cell phone of the room. She argued with me that the room was clean. I told her that my son could have easily picked up a piece of glass and put it in his mouth. I stated I do not want any problems I just want my money back. At no time did she mention I would not receive my money back she stated that she cleaned the room and I would have to call after 11am the following day to speak to the manager. I call the next day (afternoon) and ask to speak to the manager, I then told him what I had went through and requested my money back, he then stated no refund after you been here a few hours, I told him it was only a little after an hour when I had went to the front office, he then changed his statement saying "well no refunds after an hour, no refunds at all" I then let him know the same thing I let the lady know, that my son could have easily put a piece of glass in his mouth or worse and he became very defensive and started arguing with me and verbally abused me over the phone. I told him I wanted to speak to whomever is above him, owner, corp or someone else in charge that if I did not I would report him to bbb and Health Inspectors and any form of government if needed. He then started yelling at me on the phone and told me "go ahead do it, do it" He would not give me his name he just kept saying the address and that he was the owner and yelling at me and being very rude to the point he made me emotionally distressed and I cried and he disconnected. I then contacted the local police and they stated that they could no longer do anything, if I had called at that moment I originally asked for the refund they would have been able to do something. I am filing a complaint not only because I did not receive my refund which I want to be compensated for, also because of the false advertising and extremely poor customer service. Most importantly because of the health and safety of anyone staying there.(reported to bbb) The worst place I have ever stayed by far, worst customer service ever..DO NOT STAY THERE! Regal Inn is just next door and they are by far better in how they run...
Read moreTrust me friends, I could have easily givin them 2 stars. Maybe even 1. But a part of me wanted to give them 4 stars due to the brilliance of their saving grace. I'll explain. In many ways this place kinda sucked. It was clean, but not as clean as I would prefer. As I did not rent the room, I don't exactly know the price. But I was told it was reasonable. Though when one takes into account the creepy nature of the surrounding area, "reasonable" becomes a somewhat loaded word. Worse was the feel I got from the staff and management. They were eyeballing me in a way that truly made me uncomfortable. On that level, a 2 star effort at best.But.... The room featured a microwave and small refrigerator. Friends, this is a brilliant move. No other roadside has this that I have seen. Some have kitchenettes, but this is just a one piece unit that can be put in any room. This one appliance will not only keep the price down, but will also benefit the traveler in so many ways. Surprised more places don't have these. It may seem like a small thing, but it actually makes all the difference...
Read moreOk, for $22.99 a night I really shouldn't complain, but I have to. I put up a friend here for a few days. Rooms are very small but clean and remodeled. No frills but clean. Has a fridge and microwave which was an added bonus. The proprietor seemed reasonable, however, when I extended my guest's stay for a few days, I called to see if I could pay them over the phone. I spoke with a man who spoke very broken english who told me he would charge my credit card and I could sign for it 2 days later after check out. 3 hours later, my guest gets a threatening call from the other manager (the son of the first guy apparently) stating he was going to call the police to have him thrown out in 10 minutes if I did not sign for the room. I understand you have to deal with less than savory characters in the motel business, but this was the wrong way to handle it. Long story short, I faxed him a signature and it was fixed, but the way it was handled...
