I have been a dedicated Choice Hotels rewards member for well over 10 years.||This is not the 1st Econo Lodge I have stayed at that was unacceptable, but most are passable.||As a generality, any hotel that advertises long-term rates is likely to have problems.||If it cost, $35 or $40, I probably wouldn't be writing a bad review.||For $50 plus tax, I am taking this time to let you know what it's like.||It is obvious the owners have no pride in the place.||The carpet in the hallways is disgusting. ||The room was shockingly neglected.||I will say that the room had been cleaned, but the condition of the furniture & bedding was shocking.||There were many burn holes in the comforter & many cigarette burns on all of the furniture, TV & sink area.||The desk in the room has water damage 3 or 4 inches up from the bottom.||It actually appears that they purchased flood damaged furniture to save money!!||The back door was not working at first, but they did fix it.||The icing on the cake was going to the breakfast room shortly before the closing time & finding little food we were interested in left. The hotel woman said something about them being about to close. We didn't wan't to wait to make a waffle so took the 1 muffin that was left. She told the young couple that was there that they couldn't take their food to the room due to the health department. I think this is a lie & actually considered calling the health department to verify this.||I do understand why they don't want food in the rooms, but in years of extensive travel, I don't ever remember a hotel saying this.||We did see a roach in the room & there was powder around the edges in a few spots indicating that they are trying to keep bugs out.||My husband said something to the desk woman about the condition of the place. She said something about new owners & remodeling. I guess we'll see if that's true, but I would say that you shouldn't buy a rundown hotel unless you have the money to start remodeling immediately. If there was evidence of remodeling in pr0gress, we would have let some of these things go.||The bottom line is it's obvious that people had abused this hotel, but it is the owners' responsibility to replace damaged items & take steps to improve...

Read moreLet me start by saying I have been in the hospitality industry for almost 20 years with 3 years a general manager. I booked a week a this hotel due to Motel 6's free pet policy. I have a cat and an ESA who happens to be a mastiff mix. So very large. I declared her as a ESA at checkin as is proper.
I was willing to over look the maintenence issues, broken bathroom room door, and a windows that doesn't lock on a 1st floor room. But the rooms are newly renovated and very nice for the price.
I was even willing to over look the f*cking cockroach I found this morning. Because thier customer service was fantastic. As a hospitality professional I know sometimes these things can't be helped. Until I met the morning staff today 3/4.
I had removed my dog and crated my cat as instructed by the manager for service. When we came back with lunch it still had not been serviced so we tried to eat at the table in the lobby while they got it done. The only people around where us and the desk girl. She proceeded to approach us and tell me my dog has to go in the room and cannot be in the public space as she will "scare the little children" (who where no where to be seen) That is also a direct violation of the ADA regulation. I didn't feel like an argument so I just took her outside. The room never got serviced. When we returned it was exactly how we left it. And when I walked by said desk girl in the hall she showed visible fear. She is afraid of big dogs. And that's fine. But her irrational fear does NOT out weigh my legally protected rights under the ADA. Your lucky I don't...
