We travel here for the gun show each year and although this is a pretty basic hotel, it has always been comfortable and the staff nice and helpful. This year was different, we arrived early after trying to beat some bad weather back home. We arrived approximately 3am on Friday morning. The clerk at the desk said that they were sold out and had no rooms available. I explained we had reservations for Friday, but yes we were very early. We asked if he knew of any other hotels that may have rooms. He then stated that his computers were down and he could check if he had any rooms available in about 30 minutes. We said okay and said we’d have a seat in the lobby and check on some other hotels. After a bit, I went back to the counter and he said he found 1 room available in our room type. We were thankful and told him so. We then went to get a cart for our bags and guns (signs are posted all over the hotel to not leave them in your cars). There were no carts, we told the clerk and he said he could go look for one if we needed it, ummm, yes we do, that’s why we are looking for one. He was gone a bit and we waited, he was not able to find one. So here we go, exhausted after being on the road for over 12 hours, we proceeded to unload and carry our items by hand to the room, he offered no assistance. Upon our last trip to the car a woman brought a small cart back, too late. I had a bag of labeled and postage paid items that needed to be mailed. I asked the clerk if he could please make sure these were mailed today (Friday) and said no problem. On Saturday morning I had no hot water, just luke warm. The hotel was sold out. Friday night, so I guess the hot water system couldn’t keep up. On Saturday night I checked the tracking numbers on the packages I left at the front desk and they had not been mailed. I called the front desk and they said they must not have had mail pickup that day, and I asked about Friday… Did they not have mail pickup on Friday either? He then proceeded to ask me if I could drop them at the mailbox? 9:00 pm on a Saturday night? Ridiculous! These were packages from my online business, that HAD to be mailed Friday. If they couldn’t of done this someone should of let me know. If I hadn’t checked the tracking who knows how long they would of been there. I picked them up Sunday upon checking out and explained again how upset I was, they offered nothing but excuses and wanted a description of the clerk that night! They gave me my packages, but upon leaving I realized I was 1 short and had to go back and get the one they shorted me. I will never stay here again. I will be contacting corporate! I should get a full refund. I have 100% positive feedback on my Ebay business and work hard to keep it this way. This stay puts my business at risk, and what should of been a great...
Read moreWe were greated nicely but that was the end of that. Upon arrival, the suite we had booked was not available nor did they mention this to us. We got to our room to find we were in a standard room. After that, we called the front desk and was informed that the suite that was "guaranteed" during booking, was not available and that they would have to call us back. Then after waiting, I called the front desk and spoke to a woman named Kathy who has said the room has been discounted to reflect a regular room instead of a suite. That's not a great way to make a customer happy. Also, I asked for a pack and play since I had my babies with me and it wasnt safe for them to sleep on the high beds. I was told they didnt have any left and they arent guaranteed to be available. We wouldn't have needed this if we had received the guaranteed suite we had paid for. To end the night we get loud knocking at midnight that the lady at the front desk had "found this is the closet" and dropped it on the floor and left. No eye contact, no smile, nothing. Thanks for waking my babies that were sleeping.
We woke up the next day and went downstairs for breakfast which was a disaster. 30 mins in we were still waiting on food, waffle mix, syrup, and coffee.
I definitely won't be back. A business can have a rough day when it comes to things such as the food but customer service should always be on point to make up for the bad moments. This place...
Read moreThis is our 3rd stay at this hotel and I will never stay here again. The first night we went down to the pool to fine the timer on the hot tub broken, the handicap chair broken, the umbrellas broken, the chairs scattered around and, people who were not even guest using the pool with their wild children. The second afternoon my wife went down to the pool and found it it the same condition minus the wild children. My wife said 30 minutes later a car pulls up 2 women got out and set up camp around the pool. My wife struck up a conversation with them and found out that they were not guest and the manager doesn't mind. That evening I went down to the pool only to find about 15 little kids and their parents using the pool. They of course were not guest, but they did have a children birthday party in one of the conference rooms. The remote on our TV did not work right. The managers solution was , you just have to play with it a little and it will work, or he could move us to a different room- we had connecting rooms with family. I am so furious that I wasted my money and, my points rewards for this. The other 2 times we stayed you couldn't ask for better service. This time it was horrible. I felt like we were staying at a, pay by the hour hotel. This Hampton needs to bring back the other manager before it does end up like a...
