Worst Marriott I ever stayed in AC hotel downtown in Tuscaloosa AL.
Checked in and was assigned room 432. Got there and beds had no sheets and comforters were on the floor. Room wasn’t serviced.
Went to front desk and was moved to room 426. This room has a floating wood floor. It was installed wrong, there were big gaps in-between the boards showing the subfloor and the boards moved. Maitenance arrived and said, ‘oh yeah some of the rooms are like this’. Who signed off on this installation?????
So I’m moved again to room 450. And a brand new list of issues.
1-Wall paper peeling off the walls
2-the shower door is bowed out so water runs all over the bathroom floor.
3-there is black stuff and mold in the shower.
4-there is painters tape holding up a piece of trim in the bathroom.
5–the shower gel bottle in the bathroom was empty when I went to shower.
6- the two complimentary waters that are supposed to be in the refrigerator only had one.
7-sheets on the beds don’t fit the mattress.
8-stains on the hall carpet floor.
Recap; Maitenance and upkeep of the property is poor. Room prep and quality assurance is subpar.
I have documented every one of these issues with photos.
I have no plans of ever returning.
Worst ever Marriott experience.
The hits just keep coming. I leave my room for the morning and the housekeeping woman is servicing rooms dressed in a dirty gray hooded sweatshirt with stains all...
Read moreOur recent experience at the AC Tuscaloosa Hotel was deeply disappointing, especially as Marriott Gold Elite members who expect a certain standard of service.
Upon our early arrival at 1 PM, we were asked to wait until the standard check-in time at 3 PM. While waiting, we noticed several other guests being checked in, which was confusing and frustrating.
Our situation escalated when, after contacting Marriott's customer service, we interacted with General Manager Michael Watson. His response was curt and unhelpful, leaving us feeling neglected as he withdrew to his office without resolving our issue.
The most distressing part of our visit involved a front desk clerk. This individual, rather than assisting us, stood outside the hotel, arms crossed, glaring at us through the window. When we needed assistance at the front desk, such as purchasing water, he blatantly refused to come inside and help. His behavior was blatantly unprofessional, as he continued to watch us from outside, even as the bartender kindly assisted us.
Photos we took clearly show the clerk's inappropriate conduct. It's concerning that this behavior is overlooked, if not condoned, by the General Manager, who was present on the property.
This experience has left us questioning our loyalty to the Marriott brand. We hope this review serves as a wake-up call for improved customer service and staff conduct at the AC...
Read moreWe are from Virginia and brought my daughter to Alabama for college. It was a long drive and seeing the hotel was a relief. It was very pretty and had 2 bars!! ;) most everything was good. The bathroom was a bit gross around the bottom, something only I probably noticed anyway. There was also a public restroom on our floor (the 2nd floor I think).. by the gym. I went in the there and it was a mess. I'll just leave it at that. Both stalls. I am writing this review because of Fantasia. 99.9% that is her name. I was a nervous wreck the whole time, cuz I was just leaving my baby there! 12 hrs from her mama! I already tend to be a hyper, manic person. So anxiety was all the way. Which keeps me from sleeping great. So I went outside to smoke a bunch, and chatted with Fantasia. We never had maid service, as far as I know while we were there for 2 nights. So, I had to bother her a bunch for stuff. Also, I was toning my hair which makes it look bright purple. I didn't even realize I forgot to put a hat on while it processed when I walked out the room late at night for a cig. She didn't even bat an eyelash at my appearance. She definitely made up for the small details that weren't on par. She was very professional and helpful. And acted like people walked around all the time with purple shampoo lathered in their dry hair! We were there around the 8th. Sorry it took so...
