THIS HOTEL HAS MICE.
Now, let me explain. I booked a two night stay. I was fully prepared to love this hotel. It is an independent establishment, not corporate owned. The decor is unique and funky. The check in staff were polite and helpful. The room was clean- or so I thought.
At 530am, I was woken up by a rustling noise, which turned out to be a MOUSE that was in my bag. I then discovered mouse droppings beside my bag, and under the bed. So I called the front desk- and believe it or not, THIS is the point that my opinion of this hotel turned negative.
Here is what the night clerk for the hotel DID: hang up on me the first time I called; refuse to give me his name; initially refuse to give me the name of the hotel manager, stating, “why do you want it?”; eventually give me the manager’s name and when I asked him to write it down (it was a unique name that I did not understand because of the clerk’s accent), said “you can write it down yourself;” roll his eyes at me and scoff “whatever;” call me 30 minutes after hotels . com issued a refund, saying that I had to leave because I was “refunded and checked out” (it was 6:45am); raise his voice with me as if I was in the wrong in this situation.
Here is what night clerk did NOT do: Apologize. Not even once.
I can forgive a lot of things. I can even forgive a mouse in a hotel room- I’m sure that even the best pest control cannot prevent everything.
However, I cannot- I will not- forgive blatant rudeness and lack of simple respect for another human being.
Make your decision for your hotel based on what is important to you. I would be inclined to say that my experience with the mouse was an outlier, a one-off in an otherwise well-run establishment. However, the ignorance with which I was treated by the night clerk was beyond anything I have ever experienced at a hotel. I hope the management will educate their night staff in...

Read moreWARNING DO NOT STAY!!
Had the awful experience of attempting to stay here in october last year, an experience i’m still dealing with 3 months later!
This hotel is rife with rodents so beware, i booked a stay here while seeing some friends for 5 nights and didn’t even make it through the first night, i got into my room unpacked some things and hit the bed, woken an hour later to the sound of rodents rummaging in the trash can, i managed to catch it in the trash bag and attempted to inform reception, there was nobody there and the emergency number listed on the desk was not picking up. I had kill the rodent myself in the bag i caught it in and had to wait to the following morning after not sleeping a wink to finally see someone at reception, i was then given another room, the following room had evidence of rodents excrement all over the floor of the room and the bathroom. After informing reception i wanted to leave and be refunded i was told as i booked via booking.com that i would have to contact them to cancel the booking and get the refund for the booking that way.
This turned out to be a lie as even after the hotel informing booking.com they do intend to refund me they still have not processed the refund! 3 months later i’m still out over $500.
Rude condescending staff, the place stank of extremely strong air freshener likely to hide the smell of rodents, and all round terrible experience so do yourself a favour and book somewhere else.
This is your warning to absolutely not stay at this hotel avoid avoid!
MESSAGE TO HOTEL OWNERS : I fully expect a refund processed for this within the next week or i will be posting a review on every...
