Verona Pizza — Restaurant in Upper Darby

I have ordered from them on several occasions in the past without a problem. Tonight I placed my regular order, a vegetarian pizza. It arrived on time. When I began to eat the 1st slice I noticed a weird aftertaste. I soon recognized I was tasting the burnt crust. I tried another slice and it too was burnt. I called grubhub to report what had happened and they refunded the cost of the pizza. About 15 minutes later I received a phone call from a manager who began to question why he received a notification there was a problem with my order. I explained what happened and he immediately began telling me it couldn’t be possible based on how the pizzas are prepared. He became hostile and argumentative with me. I calmly explained that I had no reason to lie. I even offered to send him pictures to prove it. He condescendingly said “yeah send me the pics because there’s no way” and hung up on me. I immediately sent him pictures and waited for him to call back. He NEVER did. So even though I had proof, NO ONE called to apologize or even acknowledge my experience. I sent the pictures to 5 other people and asked if they thought the pizza was burnt, all 5 said YES! I expected better from you Verona, I didn’t deserve your hostility and blatant disrespect. Horrible customer service to say the least. Never again! I will never patronize your establishment again, nor will I ever recommend...

I called and ordered from here and asked the tall young lady at the register with the glasses on if they had turkey or beef pepperoni pizza she told us that they DID have beef pepperoni. Once we were home we noticed that the meat was pink and did not look like beef pepperoni. We do not eat pork as we were raised under Muslim beliefs. We then took the pizza back and told them they gave us the wrong order. The owner called us liars and said the girl at the register did not tell us wrong.The owner said he was not willing to correct the mistake or refund our money because he could not “eat the cost”. He then goes on to say we heard wrong. I believe because we were brown in skin color and told him we were not raised to eat pork it made him call us liars. I told him to keep his pizza because it meant more to him than best practices and admitting to the mistake of his receptionist. We asked him to listen to the recording of the call and he said “we don’t do that”. The best resolve was to give him back his pizza because that seemed to be most important to him..his pizza. We left the pizza on the counter and walked out. I will never patronize Verona Pizza again because they lack integrity, character and they do not value all...

It is incomprehensible that this place receives more than two stars. Either the people on this list are so used to eating garbage that they don't know what is good food, or all these reviews have been paid for. Soggy wet Pizza on uncooked dough, McDonald's quality food, frozen reheated garbage, old fries reheated. And that's just the food. Additionally, they started delivering beer. The problem is they charge double delivery fee if you get food and beer. Yes they double dip. They charge you a delivery fee for the food and they charge you a second delivery fee for the beer. No other place does this. They are so cheap and they are like thieves and how they take your money and give you garbage. And why do you have two different delivery fees for one delivery? It's the same guy who delivers the food. Other places that deliver alcohol and food do not charge to separate delivery fees. This place Is a nasty grease Pit and the employees who work there are nasty greasy people. And finally, there is an obvious lack of diversity in the employees. They seem to mostly hire the same kind of people. If you know what I mean. And it seems like all of them have no idea what is Italian food or how to make any...
