El Chapulin Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Upper Darby

This place has the best tacos in Delco for sure. Honestly might be the best tacos I've ever tried in Pennsylvania. I check out all of the local Mexican places when I travel for work, and the food is great at just about every one I've ever visited. But this place just opened up relatively recently and their food is top notch. Went here for lunch and got carne asada tacos. Also tried their homemade chips. The salsa roja was excellent, had a really good kick to it and lots of flavor. And the salsa verde was great as well, it had a good thickness to it and wasn't watery. I was blown away by the tacos. Very generous portions and the meat was fresh and flavorful. I think that's what gives this place the edge, everything just seemed to be very fresh and made with high quality...

This was a pick up order and it was on time and hot. My two friends loved their tacos and said the portions were ample. Both had leftovers. The two sauces are very good. The Chile relleno was not what I expected. It said it would be topped with a red sauce but instead it was drowned in something the consistency of broth, so it was a soggy mess. I picked out the peppers and ate them, tossed the rest. I think perhaps it is just a recipe that I am not used to. My other favorite Mexican restaurants make this dish a different way. The rice and bean sides were very good. I’ll go again and try something different. Check order if picking up as was missing my guacamole. This happens at many places so not a big deal. I am looking forward to trying...

Update 2/2/23. My second visit from Maryland..well worth the ride. The food was just as good as last year. Service was great, excellent bargain for the price. The burritos are no joke. Full and can feed 2. The Best of Philadelphia Magazine 2023 New Tacqueria, I know why.

A great find in Upper Darby, just off West Chester Pike. Authentic and delicious Mexican food. The Birria tacos..fabulous. The Roast Pork tamale was full of meat and a perfect masa, not dry at all. This is after traveling back to Maryland and reheated the next day. That says it all. My friend had the chiliquellies. She is from Southern California, she knows Mexican food, she loved them. Hardworking owners who know how to make you feel welcome. I can not recommend this small...
