My daughter "Lizettes" wedding was at 4 Points by Sheraton Ventura Harbor Resort. For a wedding venue it deserves 5 Stars. It's the most beautful place to have a wedding and the price is right. This place has a BEAUTIFUL very large area that looks like a park with a lovely walk area for the bride to walk and it ends with Greek pilars where the nupcials took place. LOVELY. Also the surrounding area is beautiful with a harbor. The night before we had dinner at a greek restaurant in the Harbor with out of town guest from Costa Rica, Oklahohoma,Arizona and San Francisco. We had 30 people for dinner and to our surprice we even had a belly dancer. Food was delicious. |The wedding started at 2:30 pm. We ordered a ton of Hors'doeuvres. To our surprise after the nuptials they had Hors'doeuvres placed out side with nakings and ice water. The dinner/party was were they have the restaurant. Lovely place for a small wedding of 70 guest. You get two rooms, the restaurant and the outdoor balcony were they added tables and chairs. We had an hour open bar with more Hors'doeuvres in this ourdoor area. The restaurant area is all glass windows and with the flowers and white table cloths it looked beautiful. Highly recommend this venue. The Hors'doeuvres were DELICIOUS. All the guest loved them. The ceviche to die for, meatballs superb, etc etc. For the main course Filet mignon, mashed potatoes, vegetables. Dinner salad with very good bread and butter. We also had chicken with capers that was okay, a little too much floor on the chicken. Steak very small serving but delicious and cooked to perfection. The service was EXCELLENT and the place was spotless. Extremely clean and on the tables they had fresh cold water and lemonade till 9:00pm. The meal came with a delicious lemon cake. My daughter also wanted a chocolate cake and we had a local delicious two tier chocolate cake. YUMMY. Now, the rooms need immediate repairs. They tell me the Sheraton just purchased the property and it will all be renovated. People are right., the carpets are old, the bed has craters its so old. I did not mind the loud air conditioner, but, I could see were people don't want to hear the noise. The bathtub extremely slippery and dangerous. I placed a towel inside the bath tub so I would not slip. The room was very clean and with fresh towels, I did ordered more towels and they were delivered. The doors have to be replaced. The front door would open on its own. This happened twice. They don't have a safe in the room and I do have beautiful and expensive jewelry. Thank god nothing was taken. The handyman was their and very polite. I stayed two nights. Prior to the wedding, the toilets downstairs were not working. They had mayor problems that took months to be repair. For the wedding all the toilets were working. Please note next to the restaurant they have I beliveve 4 toilets and that was all renovated. It's a lovely property and 100% recommend it for a...

Read moreI am a long standing Marriot reward member. Sheraton is owned by Marriot now. We almost always love Marriot properties but this one really fell short. I will say the staff at the hotel desk were very nice but the property itself is very rundown. Everywhere you can see needed polising and shining. Chipped paint throughout. This property is probably from the 1970s. While some upgrades have been made they need to do much much more to be commanding the prices they get. Here's some things to think about before you book. ||1. The rooms have a Motel 6 feeling to them. They are very simple. For example in our king size bedroom there was no dressers at all for clothes to be put in. All that was offered was one small luggage rack. We had to live out of our suitcases the entire time as there is no place to store clothes. ||2. The room has a king bed and two upholstered chairs. I will say the chairs were comfortable but this room is just ugly. Its not a nice room design wise at all. ||3. The lighting is horrific! It is so dim that its hard to read by a chair or even see at night. I have included a photo of the horrible lights provided next to the bed with bare bulbs showing. Who in their right mind would install lamps with bare bulbs? We had to put towels over them or the light was so terrible to the eyes. They had taken the carpeting out and replaced with a vinyl floor much like a Motel six. Not exactly comfortable to walk on. You better bring slippers or flip flops. Its just an ugly room you don't want to spend any time in. ||4. The hotel does provide a nice coffee service in the lobby but it doesn't come out until about 7am. Hello many of us are up earlier. ||5. The coffee maker in the room is such a cheap piece of junk it was unusable. I've never seen a coffee maker that had a flimsy plastic drip cup. How does this even work? We were very unhappy with it. ||6. The fridge in the room was the size of a dorm room fridge. You can barely fit anything in it. ||7. There is an outdoor courtyard that is really messy and not nice at all. The doors are kept open all day so the halls are really cold most of the time. ||8. We honestly regretted not staying in the local Motel 6 instead of using our hard earned points to stay in this old rundown property. ||9. The location is really great so its too bad this property is so rundown. ||10. The breakfast buffet is very good but there was so much confusion about how you pay for it and where you are supposed to eat it. We were told we could not sit in the restaurant since there was a conference there. ||I would think twice before you book here. The property doesn't add up to the price charged. We won't be staying...
