Took my toddler son out in the rain to buy Christmas presents here. Was browsing around the store when the lady working here stopped me and asked if I was "just peeking or actually browsing to buy." Shocked, I said I was planning to buy Christmas presents. She told me "well your stroller's tires are wet and I'm by myself," gesturing at the floor. I'm not exactly sure how wet stroller tires are different than everyone else's wet feet, but I got the impression that she didn't want a stoller in the store in general. I told her oh, ok, that's a bummer, I guess I'll leave. Wanted to buy 3 items but I guess I'll take my business elsewhere. Store is not mom friendly.
EDIT TO ADD: I took my DRY stroller out of my car, strolled approx 50ft across the parking lot in a light rain to your store. The parking lot is surrounded by SAND. You know the tires weren't muddy and you lied in your response and added that to make it sound worse. You only suggested I dry off my tires AFTER I had turned around to leave (realizing your behavior drove off a customer.) You were not at all polite. I did not storm, in fact I turned around and told you I was bummed because I had planned to buy 3 things, but instead would shop elsewhere. It was very Pretty Woman-esque. Unfortunately, you're the rude shopkeeper character in that movie. Also, do you regularly question your customers about whether they plan to buy anything? That's so rude! Additionally, I'm curious to know if you'd make a person in a wheelchair dry off their wheels as they come in from a light Ventura rain?
I shared my experience with a local mom's group. They, too, were shocked at the rudeness I experienced while out shopping. However, as the post grew, many other moms shared their own experiences in your shop. One was told not to touch anything, just look. Another was asked if she could even afford anything in the store. One mom said you called her "big" 2 months after having her baby. Another said you followed her around the store acting like she was going to steal something. With all these awful similar stories I'm not surprised you doubled down on your abysmal customer service with your response to this review.
Congratulations on converting an eager paying customer into someone who will forever share their terrible experience with the ridiculous woman from barefoot boutique and warn others to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOk, so I rarely order from a small shop, but have loved this shop and have bought clothes at the Ventura shop several times. The owner has been great with my daughter and I each time we have stopped there and we have hit it on a 20% discount day. Yeah! The clothes are pricey, but they fit me so well and so here I splurge! I was upset though when both my linen shirts shrunk even though I washed them delicate , cold water only hanging to dry!ā¹ļø My problem recently has been in my order of one pair of pants I needed for an event. I decided to order from here knowing they would be just what I needed. I ordered last Saturday, but I didnāt receive any notice of shipping by Tuesday, so I emailed them and told them I really needed these sent promptly. On Wednesday I received an email that they would be shipped on that day. I received no confirmation that they were shipped. I called on Thursday and the gal apologized and said they would be shipped that day. I never received confirmation of actual shipping by USPS until Saturday with an approximate arrival by next Friday! Too late for what I want them for and I splurged on these at $115. I am not able to reach them by phone as of calling yesterday. I am really upset at something that should have been stress free, lovely to wear and a little local shop that I expected much...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have lived in the area for three years now. Iām pretty sure that everything in the store is the same stuff thatās been there in that time. I continue to go in there, hoping to find something different and always disappointed that itās the same stuff. I bought a linen top there recently and asked the two girls behind the counter, they were all of 20, if I could return the top if I decided I didnāt like it and they both told me that I had 10 days. I had my husband take in the return because I was going to be out of town for a couple days. When I got home, he showed me the receipt and told me that I only have a credit. Donāt exist there only exchanges. I went in there today and talked with a woman that wouldnāt identify herself and all she did was argue with me even though I was buying something with that credit. I asked her if she understood where I was coming from and she said, well, you misunderstood. Needless to say, I will not return to shop there again. And you better bet that I will spread that information with all of my friends...
