The breakfast burrito at Harbor Cove Cafe is the best! We went for breakfast and upgraded to a 14â breakfast burrito. We chose two meats to add to the burrito. We decided to try the Portuguese sausage and bacon. There are two types of salsa that go with the breakfast burrito, so we asked for both pico de gallo and spicy salsa. They cut the burrito in half for us to share. It was big enough for two people to eat. The burrito also had egg, cheese, and potatoes inside. The tortilla was fresh, warm, and flaky. We ate the burrito on the outdoor patio because we didnât want to be in the sun. They also had plenty of picnic tables set up on the grass and an indoor dining room too. The outdoor dining is right on the marina and has a beautiful view of all the boats. Weâve only been on Saturday mornings and there has been ukulele players there playing on the grass area. The staff is very outgoing and helped us decide what to order. We have sat in the picnic tables and listened to the music while sipping mimosas. The workers also told us all about whale watching and the Channel Islands. She had some maps and magazines for us to look through while we ate. The back patio has a fire pit that you can sit next to. There is a parking lot in front of the restaurant but it seems to fill up fast. We have always gone early on Saturdays so parking hasnât been a problem. This place is great for kids, dogs, and...
Read morePoor service, they don't check on you or what you need. After you pay for your food they drop it off to where you are sitting and then you're on your own. You have to get back in line , if there's a line, I had to get back up 3 times and wait your turn again to ask for things like : a glass of water , napkins, condiments.
I also didn't like how little they cared about my dogs, it said dog friendly online , they have signs they are too and when I asked for 3 dog patties , 3 dogs, we got one bowl to share between them .No water, had to get up and ask them for water, waited in line again, then the cashier handed me a dirty bowl and instructed me to get water from a spout for my dogs. I asked for a clean bowl and if I'm getting water for myself why can't my dogs get the same water. She said that it is the same water but she only filled my drink not my dogs.
Food was also pricy, if you expect me to pay 18 to 25 dollars a meal (or higher depending on what you order), you should be offering quality customer service for patron retention and more then a medium cup size drink with no refills.
We will not be coming back. Horrible ,...
Read moreHarbor Cove CafĂ© is located at the northernmost point of Harbor Village, city of Ventura, and is something of a old style shack with a kitchen which is not continuous with the enclosed dining area. There is ample outdoor seating when itâs cold outside. The menu on the Internet appears generous, but it really is limited to omelettes and burritos, and the choice of menu items is more extensive than what is literally available at the restaurant site. The seafood burrito is excellent, but costly, and we had two of those, but did not try anything else on the menu. The food alone gets a solid B+. The ambience is typical rustic waterside CafĂ© style, which during nice weather is wonderful, and during cold weather, is almost inhospitable, through no fault of the management. Personally, I think there are better breakfast and lunch choices within Ventura Harbor Village, but I never been to this cafĂ© and it had some very favorable reviews. Overall, it disappoints slightly, because the menu choices are fairly narrow in the cost factor is fairly high. There are other more reasonable choices within Harbor Village, just moments to the...
