Tillys California Burritos — Restaurant in Versailles

I only had the tacos, but they were very good. The best part of the experience was the nice lady who told me that the recipes were her mom's or aunts and she was from SoCal. They operate out of a brightly colored truck that was parked on the fairgrounds that morning. They weren't quite open when I stopped by to be nosy but she was nice enough to invite me to wait a few minutes and she would help me as soon as they were up and running. I ordered the carne asada tacos which are simply grilled steak. They had lettuce, cheese and were served in a homemade albeit premade taco shell. Which means that they were real tortillas but fried ahead of time so that folks didn't have to wait so long. Salsa was decent and homemade. Best quick bite Mexican food in versailles and Laurie. They set up wed and thurs in Versailles across from rII and every other Fri in Laurie across from g2m grocery. Being from San Diego and moving to Missouri was great to know family with all the close to the border homemade recipes. Cali burrito is straight out of San Diego with French fries n carne asada inside and all the burritos are massive. Chicken chipotle is fantastic if u like a lil spice. 24 hour marinade on steak and chicken. No lard in the beans so they are very healthy compared to the classic. They serve burrito bowls which is a burrito without the tortilla served with chips on the side instead and they make all their own chips. So...

Absolutely great customer service, I’ve ate here more times then I can remember over the years, and the service, and price has always been great.

My only problem with the place is the seasoning for the meat. The chicken has almost no flavor and is extremely bland, with both the tacos and the burritos, although the rest of it seems to taste fine.
