I am sitting in the beautiful front room of the Gelbach Manor on my last night in the adorable town of Warrensburg.
We traveled from Michigan to Missouri to attend my grand nephew’s graduation party. My sister recommended the Gelbach Manor for our group of 4 adults and 6 small children and I’m so glad she did!
Upon arrival Rhonda welcomed us at the door and without a bat of an eye showed us to an area to change the baby’s messy diaper. She then gave us a tour of the gorgeous house and grounds.
On Saturday we walked two blocks to the Farmer’s Market. We purchased hydroponic sprouts, flowers, sour dough bread and fruit. The kids enjoyed feeding the alpaca, making pinecone bird feeders, eating fresh strawberries and delicious blueberry lemon scones.
Though it was rainy the kids were able to play and run off some wiggles on the expansive front porch. The adults meanwhile were able to relax and chat on the comfortable outdoor seating.
I stayed in Charlene’s room located on the second floor. It had a very comfortable queen size bed and the linens were soft and luxurious. Though it faced the street it was very quiet and I slept well. I was impressed with the numerous amenities that included a lighted makeup mirror, charging station, luggage rack and robes.
Sunday was beautiful and after the graduation party we all came back and enjoyed the heated pool. The kids had a blast trying to touch the bottom off the diving board as well as barreling down the slide. The pool area had the best lounges ever and plenty of shaded areas as well as sunny areas to soak up some vitamin D.
We were able to use the kitchen to make nutritious snacks and simple meals for the kids. Rhonda stocked the fridge with half and half, milk, orange juice and water. She also set out protein bars, scrumptious muffins and fruit. The Keurig and complimentary variety of coffee pods were greatly appreciated.
I’m sure I missed some of the lovely details Gelbach Manor offers but I can’t emphasize enough what a wonderful experience staying there was and highly recommend this lovely bed...
Read moreThis would be the perfect place for a couple, family or families to stay. I was on the 3rd floor with my 7, 2, and 8 mo old daughters and we had plenty of room with the comfortable king bed and a cot. The entire bed and breakfast is aesthetically pleasing and you feel right at home. I loved that there was a full kitchen for us to have to ourselves. The front porch was our main hang out for the 6 kiddos to play on during the rainy days. There is plenty of green space in the front and back yard for the kiddos as well. Easy to find and great parking areas.||||Downtown is two blocks away and we enjoyed a nice dinner one night and a morning at the farmer's market. We had organic sourdough scones from a mother of four boys and they were the best I've ever had! It was also strawberry season and they were sweet and juicy, a perfect healthy snack for us all. We walked to get bakery items at the Green Truck bakery-their crossaints are a delight for our drive home.||||Rhonda the owner was very attentive but always gave us our space. She answered texts or calls quickly, made sure we had any snack items we needed and helped us make decisions on things to do and places to eat.||||The entire place is immaculately kept; I couldn't find a speck of dust if I tried. The in-ground pool and seating area outside was a perfect retreat for our last day there (it was rainy otherwise, but we still had a great time utilizing the porch). All of the furniture and bedding was comfortable. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a weekend getaway or visiting their college student. You won't be...
