DO NOT STAY HERE! First off the hotel is in a sketchy part of town. Our check-in time was set for 4:00 PM and we did not receive our code to access the property or our room until 4:50 PM, almost a whole hour after our check-in time.
Secondly, the room was absolutely horrible! I paid extra for the upgraded room on Travelocity and they placed me in the basement with the standard room. They also advertise that the beds are queen-sized and they are only full-sized. Also, the room was disgusting. There was a weird stain on the bedroom wall, the floors felt grimy and not clean, and in the shower, there was hair left from the previous person. There was also a dirty towel in the bathroom. Not to mention, the bed was also broken and had lots of dust, hair, and other debris underneath it. Worse yet, was that the AC system was not working when we entered our room. And when we got it to work, it was only working out of one vent for the entire room. Also, in the kitchen area, the knives and other utensils looked like they had yet to be washed and had food particles still on them. The sink in the kitchen area also smelled like rotting food and it only got worse the longer I stayed in the room. If it was any other night I would've gone to the front desk and asked for a new room but I didn't because it was only for one night and I was exhausted from walking around all day.
Because of the horrible experience I called after my experience to ask for a refund. When I called it was Friday, and I was told the manager was out of the building and I would receive a call back by Tuesday. On the next Tuesday, I still hadn’t received a call or email so I called back. I was told that I would receive a call back from the manager by the end of the day on Wednesday. No call back again. So for the third time, I called back the next day and was told the manager would call me right back. I waited an hour and a half for the manager to call me and still got no call. So, I called back to ask about it and was told the manager told the front desk that the manager called me and settled the issue. The manager was lying to the desk employees about resolving my concerns!! I was also told that the manager had already left for the day and that I would need to call back in the morning. I call back the next day AGAIN and still don't speak to the manager, however, I am told that I will only be receiving a 50% refund for everything! This is ridiculous for the state of the room and the trouble that they put me through for trying to contact the manager. So again, DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! Spend the extra $50 a night and stay at a much...
Read moreThe check-in process was a nightmare. I booked this hotel July 3 for a stay July 22-24. My first communication was a canned email saying that in order to finalize the reservation, I needed to complete an online form, which included the requirement to upload a valid ID. Kind of a pain, but okay. ||||Then they rejected my ID, again via canned ID, for being expired. Except it wasn't. Whatever process they were using was reading the 2022 issue date instead of the 2026 expiry date and rejecting it. Over the next week I had multiple email exchanges, this time with actual people, who still kept insisting the ID was expired. I finally emailed them original of the below shot to point out the difference between the issue date and the expiry date on an Ohio driver's license. Finally someone said it had been a glitch in the system which was now fixed. ||||Except it wasn't. Their instructions had been that the PIN would be emailed when the room was ready. Check-in was supposed to be four, so I didn't worry too much that it hadn't arrived until then, but when 4:00 rolled around and still no PIN, I called. And of course was put on hold, and left my number. They called back within a reasonable time, but it was to tell me that because my ID was expired, they hadn't emailed the PIN and I'd need to come into the hotel with a valid ID before they could issue the PIN. So we went over to the hotel and handed the ID to a real live person, who agreed it wasn't expired. She didn't actually have the room type we had requested left, so we ended up with a downgrade. I understand this does happen, but I strongly suspect that having made this reservation three weeks ahead, the glitch was more one of someone else with a "valid" ID actually got the room. ||||The space was nice, and it's in a very convenient part of town for us, and we're crossing our fingers that now that they've got us in their system, this won't happen again. But Jeez. If you're going to require that a guest provide a valid ID upfront simply to verify the reservation, TRAIN YOUR PEOPLE TO...
Read moreI traveled solo for a four-night business trip extended to five nights. This is a "no daily housekeeping", cook-your-own-food, very compact and to-the-point apartment/hotel. First, the pluses, then the minuses: ||PLUS: |This is a shiny new property that is very well maintained. Due to its no-frills, DIY model, it saves money if you cook your grub and do your dishes. The 1-bedroom studio has a working kitchen with a 4-burner electric range, all pots, pans, strainers, and china needed for assembling or cooking your meals. There is a good-sized microwave too, and a vent for the cooking smoke. The windows let in fresh air if needed. The windows are as large as shown in the photos, and there is plenty of natural light. I could use the 10-15 minute walk to Trader Joe's to buy groceries; there is also a Safeway within a 10-minute walk. While there is some road noise, it's not bothersome, and earplugs are thoughtfully provided at your bedside table.||CONS:|The neighborhood is generally safe, but the one-block radius immediately around the hotel has some "sidewalk dwellers" who appear drunk and/or drugged. For this reason, the hotel keeps its doors tightly shut, and a door code is required to enter. I felt uncomfortable venturing out at night. |The reception is staffed 24x7 with a receptionist to check in/out their guests, open the main door, and offer any minor guest help. I found that 2 of the three individuals I encountered during my 5-day stay needed more training and customer orientation. They (a) struggled to charge the card specified at reservation time via Wyndham's own website/app, (b) gave zero oral or written advice about food options or grocery shopping options nearby, (c) failed to provide even a basic overview of facilities or room features within the already minimal hotel. |Only one senior-looking staff member was courteous, proactive about my already modest needs, and knowledgeable about extending genuine customer service fit for a hotel's...
