This is my favorite lunch place in DC. The food is outstanding, the staff are friendly, and the restaurant itself provides the feeling that you're enjoying a local sandwich shop. This is the best sandwich bread you can get in DC, and it's not even close. You can taste the freshness in every bite and the addition of being able to buy the meats and fresh baked rolls separately gives Salumeria a local, small-European town quality that can't be matched at other places. For this price point and this level of sandwich creation, you won't find anything better in DC.
