We thoroughly enjoyed the Mill Boutique Hotel. We liked the self check-in and the secure code for the door. We felt safe and at home in this lovely renovated space. The window treatments did not keep the sunlight out in the morning and also covers the heat register. The room was inviting and cozy as was the commons area to sit and chat. We would definitely recommend and stay in the future! Be aware that I did not see an elevator, so be ready to climb some stairs! It was also nice to see the owners present and available. They were welcoming and took time to say hello when we recognized their faces from the picture and we initiated the conversation. The restaurant below left us thinking that there could be some improvement. It was quite pricey for the quantity and quality of the food. I ordered overnight oats which was handed to me in a plastic cup while my husband waited about 20 minutes for his breakfast sandwich that was not very good as far as taste. For dinner, my quinoa bowl was bland. I guess I thought that it would come with a dressing? My husband's smash burger was delicious! I realize this quaint coffee place is a draw for the younger crowd, so the music was something we had never heard, but not harsh...
Read moreThis was a 5 star place to stay at. The owner was responsive, the room was immaculately clean. The decor was set in the old mill motif.
Located in the heart of Waunakee made for easy commute to the east and west side of Madison without dealing with rush hour traffic.
The coffee station was perfect. It was a kurig machine meaning no cold stale coffee. Much APPRECIATED!
Bed was super comfy with plenty of pillows. No saggy mattres or pillows to deal with means I slept well.
Coffer shop on first floor is a nice touch.
All the rooms (6 of them) are on 2nd floor and unless I missed it there is no elevator. Therefore if you have mobility issues it may not work for you.
Because this is an old grain mill, the railroad tracks run along the back. 2 trains came through and they were noisy and rocked the room. Livable though.
Would I stay there again? You BET I would!! I travel quite a bit for business and I found this to better than any other place I have stayed in the past.
Thanks for a 5 star great experience.
P.s. The Inn is not fur baby friendly and I understand why. If the owner opens it up to being fur baby friendly I can say I found a new home...
Read moreIt is basically a vacation room rental. No actual person onsite but booking is easy and you then get provided entrance code for bldg. and room. Needs designated parking signs for hotel guests and not on the side of the building after seeing plow driver going thru. There is a coffee shop below which utilizes lots of parking. The place is very clean and decorated minimalistic but charming. There is a sitting area with fireplace but lights don't need to be so bright. Very nice bathrooms. Rooms have your basic needs with bed, closet, dorm size fridge, desk, sitting chair, etc. TV in poor spot for viewing. Rooms should have an information sheet. Intro to room, how to use tv remote and what you get, fact there is a mini ice maker in sitting area along with Keurig and coffee pods, and info on area. Mattress is one of those buy in a box and only ok. Rates are high for accommodations. Thought we must have gotten 6-8 inches of snow after hearing plow driver @ 4:45 going by side of building 20-30 times and must have been dropping a ton of steel from 48 inches high to the pavement. Rumor of a small bar in bldg. but we...
