If you're on the road and on a budget, the Terrace Motel provides very acceptable accommodations. Although not right downtown, it's only a mile to everything including gift shops and good restaurants. Our room, though small, was clean and comfortable with all the amenities (fridge, microwave and TV) you'd find in a large chain. And when I say the price was reasonable, I'm saying it was a third to a half less expensive than you would expect to pay in this touristy town. Granted, it was out of season, and that could be part of it. Also, it's somewhat dated but that's part of its charm. We are in our 70s and we felt like we had stepped back in time. We weren't even bothered by the slightly musty smell that greeted us when we opened the door to our room. It took little time for us to become nose blind (such a convenient term) to it. On that point, Management should seriously consider installing plank flooring to update and eliminate that first, off-putting impression. It would justify a rate increase and result in better reviews (which businesses now live or die on). And one last, minor suggestion. Seriously consider updating the "art" to landscapes featuring local points of interest. It provides a nice reminder of this region's beauty and celebrates management's decision to invest here. It's so easy these days to turn a camera picture into art, why not? Sorry this is so long, but I want to provide a realistic assessment of the property so customers will know what they're getting. In closing, we would definitely...
Read moreI stayed here overnight in late October 2017 while doing a bicycle tour along the Pine Creek Trail. Like the other reviews have mentioned, this is a dated Motel. But shower was hot, the towels clean with soap and shampoo provided, the bed was comfy and sheets freshly washed with an extra pillow in a drawer. The heat worked fine, as did the TV and Wi-Fi. The 'NO SMOKING' sign was authentic with no smell of smoke in the room. The price was cheap and the gentleman who checked me in was pleasant and had no problem with me keeping the bike in the room for security (even giving me a slightly larger room THANK YOU! :) ). I'd stay here again if doing the bike tour again.
One item I would mention; the walls are a bit thin and the room next door blared the television ALL NIGHT. This is also next to a highway so road noise was dim but noticeable, nothing a set of ear plugs couldn't make up for. It's a decent room with all the basics for a basic price. I've certainly paid a lot more for places that...
Read moreSpotless room & bathroom! (Picture taken the next day. So dont mind the bed and the baby powder that was spilled on the floor). Service was top notch! Checked in around 10pm. Price was great @ only $60 for 2 adults. The bed only had 2 pillows. May have been more available but we didnt ask. Its located across from the water treatment plant but dont let that scare you off. There was 0 and I repeat 0 smell! Check out is streamline. No need to visit front desk. Since you pay up front when you check in you just leave your room key in the dresser and go about your business!!! It is a bit noisey sometimes being right on the road but you get used to it quick. With the location being 2 min from the town of Wellsboro, the affordable price, clean room, if we ever find ourselves out this way again it will surely be our go too. Also there is a breakfast joint right next door that has great reviews so we are heading there now to check it out! Safe...
