Sherwood Motel — Hotel in Wellsboro

This is my favorite place to stay when I'm in the area. I used to live around here and I still have friends up here, so I come a few times a year. The location is ideal, within walking distance to just about everything, including a grocery store, a Dunkin, and a playground for the kiddos. The rooms are huge and very clean and cozy. The jetted tub was amazing and almost too powerful on my back. The only downfall to me is that the blankets could be a little thicker; not a huge fan of the hospital style blankets. I understand they're cheaper and easier to clean than comforters, but the rooms could use an extra one since an extra pillow is supplied. However, it's easy to adjust the thermostat since it's on the wall and goes by temperature, so I definitely appreciate that. The gentleman I dealt with at the front desk is very friendly and helpful and went out of his way to make sure I could check in a bit early and extend my stay by an extra night. I highly recommend this hotel if you're ever in the area, it's well worth the price...

Overall, the motel was OK, well kept, and clean. The price for the room is in line with the area. When we made the reservation, we made it clear that we have a 4 door, full-size bed pickup truck and were pulling an 18-foot trailer loaded with equipment. The lady, who was very kind and helpful on the phone, assured us that there would be ample room on the parking lot for the truck and trailer. She also said that the motel was fairly under booked and that it wouldn't be an issue. Upon arrival, we were told that the motel was booked and was at full capacity. Plus, the gentleman that took care of us, who also was very nice and helpful, informed us that there really wasn't any place to park the trailer. He walked around with us and ultimately allowed us to park the trailer in a place where they typically do not allow parking for the duration...

Always choose the Sherwood when we are in Wellsboro. Rooms are clean. Prices are fair and the hotel is located within walking distance of many restaurants, shops, movie theater, just to name a few. Our stay at the hotel actually started out as a joke. My husband used to hunt there with his brothers years ago. I heard so many stories about it that I felt I was already there. I booked a long weekend as a birthday present for him and I instantly fell in love. Initially I was scared as he referred to the hotel as a place where all the hunters stayed and he has previously booked some others places that I wouldn’t even get out of the car once seeing them😆.
