Update: I reaffirm my original review (please see below), in which I detailed concerns regarding the practices of Dr. Castrillon. While Dr.Castrillon may be proficient in chiropractic adjustments, his conduct surrounding the sale of supplements and orthopedic equipment raises significant transparency issues. Patients have the right to receive full disclosure prior to being asked to purchase products.

Dr. Castrillon publicly responded to my review in a manner that I consider unprofessional and dismissive. His response included attacks on my character and threats of legal action without basis. He also asserted that I engaged in harassing behavior toward his staff and that I was dismissed as a patient, statements which are factually inaccurate. I believe this is not the kind of professionalism patients should expect when seeking healthcare.

To ensure prospective patients may make an informed judgment, I reference the Florida Board of Chiropractic Medicine’s statutes: 460.413(1)(n) which addresses financial exploitation, 456.072(1)(m,n,o) which address misleading and deceptive practices, and 460.413(1)(y), which pertains to prepayment plans. A formal complaint regarding this matter has been submitted to the Board.

It is my position that all healthcare interactions should reflect honesty, transparency, and professionalism. I provide this account to assist others in making informed decisions regarding their chiropractic care.

Original review: I recently visited Dr. Castrillon's office to begin treatment for scoliosis. As part of his treatment plan, he recommended a package that included orthopedic equipment along with detox and nutrition supplements. However, he refused to disclose the specific contents of the package or allow me to inspect the items unless and until I paid for them. The price ranged from $585 to $768, depending on whether or not I prepaid for the chiropractic adjustment sessions. When I questioned this policy, I was told by both staff and Dr. Castrillon that this was his standard procedure.

I found this policy to be unethical and inconsistent with patient rights to informed consent and transparency. As a result, I filed a formal complaint with the Florida Board of Chiropractic Medicine, as I believe the conduct may violate professional and legal standards in the state.

Dr. Castrillo is a very professional and highly skilled doctor in my opinion. I have been suffering from injuries that I sustained in an automobile an accident that occurred over 20 years ago. Recently, severe pain in my neck and back lead to an ER visit.

After undergoing several medical tests and examinations, the doctors concluded that I was experiencing muscle spasms. I was prescribed enough morphine to last several days then was sent home.

I called several chiropractors to schedule a consultation for therapuric treatment, no appointments were available. However, after one call to Dr. Castrillo's office, answering a few questions concerning my issues, he was able to accommodate me sooner than anyone else could. Literally, within 20 minutes of my calling I was at his office.

Dr. Castrillo did a thorough examination to include x-rays, he reviewed the x-ray with me and explained in detail the cause of my suffering and what the next steps were on the road to recovery for the chronic pain I was suffering from.

On my second visit, we discussed treatment plans tailored specifically for my individual needs based on his findings. It's been a month now and the treatment has significantly reduced my persistent neck and back pains. This guy saved my son. his scoliosis was increasing and getting closer to the dangerous zone where he has to do a surgery, but thank god we were led to this doctor who started his therapy and we finally heard the great news today that my son scoliosis degree was decreased for the first time!!!! it was 9 then 11, but when we started with this doctor my son scoliosis went down to 5 which is amazing. Thank you god for leading my wife to this doctor. Please don't go to regular Chiropractor who knows nothing and will tell you that we can't do much and all we have to do is wait to see if his scoliosis degree gets to the surgery degree then we do the surgery. Listen people, even the surgent told us that we just have to monitor and wait till my son gets to the stage where he needs a surgery, that's all nonsense, why did you guys study and get your collage degrees in this field if all you can do is wait to do surgery on my son!!

This guy helped me son and showed us stuff that we never imagined it exists. I can't write enough about you Doctor Emilio and sorry if I misspelled your name, but we can't thank you enough, it was a nightmare that helped us to wake up from.
